Echo Protocol under investigation

Echo Protocol is investigating a security incident on Monad affecting its cross-chain bridge. Hackers minted 1,000 eBTC ($76.7M), deposited 45 eBTC ($3.45M) into Curvance, and stole 384 ETH ($82.17M) via Tornado Cash.

was looking onchain and the situation with curvances ebtc pool is not as bad as it initially seemed the hacker managed to borrow 11.29 wbtc around ~800k usd from the protocol approved an infinite wbtc allowance to a bridge contract and routed 5 wbtc around ~300k usd out via the v3relayrouter all within seconds but thats where it stopped @Curvance intervened and paused the ebtc market before things got worse there also wasnt much liquidity in the pool to begin with which worked against the attacker so for now funds are trapped in there but not gone so far it seems the hacker was only able to cart away with around 5 btc not great but couldve been a lot worse hopefully the team are able to fix this somehow and make users whole

monad Just got her first official hack means she's growing lol someone minted some ebtc and carted it away via tornado cash after depositing the minted btc via @Curvance looks like the worth is within the range of 1k btc team have been silent since 8th of May seems the hack was due to "offchain guarding" someone got access to a team member's private key and used that to mint as many ebtc assets as possible Keone and team are investigating curvance claims that only the ebtc in their market was affected and not other markets via @EchoProtocol_ this is crazy tbh cuz i never expected such hacks to actually happen in another turn of event $mon dumped to 0.025 ish on the news but recovered almost immediately w keep updating if anything turns up

Security alert: EchoProtocol on Monad was reportedly exploited. Lookonchain says the attacker minted 1,000 eBTC, deposited 45 eBTC into Curvance, borrowed 11.3 WBTC, and bridged the WBTC to Ethereum. #DeFi #Security

🚨 $RUNE is getting crushed. @THORChain has confirmed a $10M multichain exploit impacting 12,847 wallets across $BTC, $ETH, BSC, and Base. In just 7 days: $RUNE fell from $0.61 to $0.45 Market cap dropped to $157M The protocol has now opened a treasury-backed refund portal, with claims available until June 4. Another reminder that in crypto, risk management matters more than narratives.
