🚨 BREAKING: CFTC Chair Mike Selig says the agency will move forward with crypto regulations even if the CLARITY Act fails. 🟠 $BTC

Back in July, he warned that regulators would end up "writing all the rules" for crypto if Congress failed to pass the CLARITY Act.

Now he is saying the CFTC proceeds regardless.

Crypto is getting regulated either way, but the two paths are very different.

If Congress passes the Act:

Oversight is split between the CFTC and SEC by law. Only Congress can change it. The rules survive whoever wins the next election.

If Congress does not:

The CFTC writes the rules on its own.

Selig and SEC Chair Atkins have already built most of the framework, including a joint memorandum and a token taxonomy classifying 16 assets as commodities.

But those were written by agency heads, not passed by Congress. The next CFTC or SEC chair can reverse all of it without a single vote.

Selig can move fast right now because he is the only sitting member of the CFTC's five-seat commission. He can act alone.

The Senate has one day left before recess and the bill is still not scheduled.

Ethereum L2 Liquidity Hits a Two-Year Low!

📉

$ETH Layer 2 total value locked (TVL) has fallen to ~$5B, marking its lowest level since 2023. A sharp decline in TVL signals capital leaving the L2 ecosystem, raising questions about user activity, liquidity, and the pace of network adoption. While short-term sentiment has weakened, this could also become a key metric to watch for signs of the next recovery.

In crypto, liquidity often moves before narratives do! 🤞

AI Is Stealing Bitcoin’s Spotlight: But Can Debt Bring Investors Back?

While Bitcoin is trying to regain momentum, BlackRock's digital assets head Robbie Mitchnick says Wall Street is focused on one thing right now: AI.

Capital is rushing into AI companies so aggressively that other assets, including gold, metals, and 🟠$BTC , are getting less attention from investors.

The SpaceX IPO hype shows the same story: demand reportedly exploded far beyond the planned raise, proving how hungry the market is for AI and high-growth tech exposure.

But Mitchnick believes Bitcoin’s long-term driver is still alive: rising U.S. debt, huge deficits, and growing fear of money printing could eventually push capital back into Bitcoin.

💥 #Bitcoin Traders Slip Into Loss Territory as Cost Basis Support Comes Into Focus

🟠 $BTC short-term trader cohort is showing increasing signs of stress as on-chain profitability metrics continue to deteriorate. Data tracking coins held between one and three months shows the Trader Profit/Loss Margin has fallen back into negative territory, approaching the historical capitulation zone near -12%. This suggests a growing share of recent buyers are now holding unrealized losses, a condition that often weakens market confidence and encourages defensive positioning.

Another important signal comes from the Trader Realized Price, currently sitting near $75.9K. Bitcoin is trading below this level, meaning the average short-term trader is underwater. Historically, sustained periods below the realized cost basis have coincided with declining speculative activity, as market participants become more focused on preserving capital than pursuing additional risk.

The Trader Realized Price Bands provide further context. Bitcoin is currently testing the lower band around $66.8K while remaining well below the upper valuation zone near $106.3K. From an on-chain perspective, this places the market closer to an area associated with stress and value accumulation rather than overheating. Previous cycles have shown that trader capitulation often develops near these lower ranges as excess leverage and weak conviction are gradually flushed out.

Taken together, the data suggests the market is experiencing short-term pain rather than structural weakness. Negative profitability, price trading below trader cost basis, and pressure near the lower realized price band all point to a phase of adjustment. Whether Bitcoin can reclaim the $75.9K realized price level will likely determine if sentiment stabilizes or if another wave of trader capitulation emerges in the weeks ahead.

XRP SLIPS BACK TOWARD INTERMEDIATE LOWS DESPITE RESILIENT SPOT ETF INFLOWS

XRP has given up its localized recovery gains to trade back toward the $1.15 to $1.19 region, following a sharp rejection at its upper channel boundary. The price pullback highlights ongoing structural exhaustion across the asset class, as short-term momentum traders aggressively take profits at overhead resistance levels.

Historically, this multi-month trading range has served as a critical line in the sand for macro trend validation, serving as a launching pad for previous cyclical resets. Despite the immediate price weakness dragging the asset back toward its multi-month lows, the underlying market structure continues to hold firm, supported by ongoing institutional accumulation and expanding real-world network utility.

Market reaction displays a rare divergence between spot and derivative channels, as spot XRP investment products log a sixth consecutive week of positive net capital inflows. While institutional allocators have poured roughly $1.44 billion into regulated products since launch, futures market open interest reflects a distinctly cautious, mildly bearish bias over the past 24 hours.

Technical observers are watching the $1.05 macro support floor to see if institutional accumulation can officially print a durable medium-term bottom. A high-volume breakout above the current falling channel would invalidate the prevailing bearish market structure, whereas a failure to establish a higher low may lead to further downside exploration.

Key focus now shifts to whether steady institutional demand from spot ETF channels can absorb immediate retail distribution, or if macroeconomic uncertainty will force a deeper correction before a sustainable trend reversal can manifest.

Citi's Bold Bitcoin Call!

Citibank predicts Bitcoin could reach $189,000 in 2026! That target reflects growing institutional adoption, increasing demand through spot ETFs, and Bitcoin's expanding role as a global store of value. If capital continues flowing into digital assets at the current pace, six-figure $BTC prices may become the new normal rather than the exception.

Markets reward patience. Bitcoin rewards conviction!

Despite a minor pullback in $BTC , the futures market shows no selling pressure. The upward trend from yesterday remains intact, and although some highly leveraged longs have been flushed out, there is still net buying in long positions.

🚀 Saylor Says Bitcoin Can Beat the S&P 500 Over Time

Michael Saylor is not backing away from his long-term Bitcoin view. In a CNBC interview, he said $BTC should continue outperforming the S&P 500 over time, even if the market stays volatile in the short term.

He also pointed to the CLARITY Act, tokenization, and growing institutional demand as major catalysts for the next phase. Strategy now holds around $65B in Bitcoin, and Saylor believes digital assets are becoming a permanent part of global finance.

#Bitcoin On-Chain Reset Suggests Bull Market Consolidation Rather Than Structural Weakness

$BTC latest on-chain structure shows a meaningful internal reset as realized profitability compresses sharply after months of elevated distribution. The Daily Realized Profit/Loss Ratio 30DMA has declined significantly, signaling that aggressive profit-taking pressure is fading. This cooling phase typically emerges when speculative momentum begins exhausting itself, forcing the market into a healthier equilibrium where short-term excess is gradually removed.

The recent realized-loss spike highlights a localized panic-selling event, with weaker participants exiting during downside volatility. Historically, these loss-expansion phases often appear during corrective resets inside broader bull cycles rather than at the start of macro reversals. As leveraged positioning unwinds, supply is redistributed toward stronger hands capable of absorbing coins during periods of fear. This process rebuilds structural support while resetting market expectations.

Further confirmation comes from Adjusted MVRV (30DMA/365DMA), which has retraced from overheated conditions but remains above historical bear-market transition zones. This distinction is important. In prior cycle tops, valuation compression was accompanied by sustained deterioration into structurally weak territory. Current levels instead resemble mid-cycle normalization.

What stands out most is Bitcoin's resilience despite deteriorating short-term sentiment.

Price continues holding well above long-term realized value benchmarks even as profitability contracts. This divergence suggests underlying demand remains intact beneath surface volatility. From a macro on-chain perspective, current conditions favor consolidation within an ongoing bull regime, with the market likely recalibrating internal leverage before establishing its next directional expansion.
