Bitcoin diverges from gold

Feb 28, Bitcoin fell to $63,019 as gold hit $5,595/oz. Peter Schiff expects continued divergence, citing macroeconomic factors.

$ERG /BTC

ERG is showing a nice momentum shift, but I want the breakout to prove itself.

The screenshot has ERG around $0.341, with buyers pushing it higher. My preferred entry would be around the $0.335–$0.342 region rather than chasing a vertical move.

EP: $0.335–$0.342

TP1: $0.360

TP2: $0.385

SL: $0.318

If ERG holds above the entry zone and volume continues supporting the move, I’d look for continuation toward the targets. A break below $0.318 would tell me the setup has lost strength.

I like the momentum, but I still want risk defined before entry.

Some real estate investors who left Bitcoin for real estate are now calling me about getting back into Bitcoin with a more structured strategy. What happened to real estate? Why are they looking to rotate back? What’s causing the panic?

Bitcoin is not digital gold, not digital gold, not digital gold. Bitcoin’s current price volatility characteristics make it a high-beta asset—an Altcoin of NVIDIA. Thus, global professional traders, during the weekend when U.S. equities markets are closed, collectively chose to short BTC despite a 6% funding rate as a substitute for shorting U.S. stocks. However, such extreme consensus in shorting is highly likely to trigger a reflexive backlash. In fact, immediately after Trump’s pre-war rally speech, BTC has already begun to rebound. If you hold short positions, it’s best to exit immediately with profits or losses—Monday could see a “miracle day,” with both U.S. stocks and BTC opening sharply higher and forcing a short squeeze.

Iranians will learn a lesson: they must buy BTC. While buying gold might also be good, once war breaks out, it’s hard to transport and dangerous to carry on your person.

🌍 Global Market: DXY: 97.61 (-0.18% 📉) Gold: $5,230.50 (+1.04% 📈) Oil: $67.02 (+2.78% 📈) US10Y: 3.96% (-1.37% 📉) US_ShortY: 3.58% (-0.28% 📉) SP500: 6,878.88 (-0.43% 📉) $BTC: $63,612 (-3.45% 📉) Despite a weaker dollar, gold shines alongside oil, while declining yields and the SPX mirror the BTC correction, suggesting a risk-off environment as investors seek refuge. #GlobalMarket #RiskOff 🐻

@nbblock At this time, BTC is a risk asset, while gold is a safe-haven asset—when BTC falls, gold rises 😅 See-saw effect

🚨 THE DOLLAR’S SHARE OF GLOBAL RESERVES JUST HIT A 32-YEAR LOW The USD now makes up 56.9% of global FX reserves down from a ~72% peak. That’s a structural shift. But let’s stay precise. A falling share ≠ dollar collapse. It usually reflects: • Central bank diversification • Growth of alternative reserve assets (gold, euro, yuan) • Geopolitical hedging after sanctions risk • Portfolio rebalancing as global GDP weights shift Important nuance: 56.9% is still dominant. The dollar remains: – The primary trade settlement currency – The backbone of global debt markets – The most liquid reserve asset Reserve share declines tend to be slow, multi-decade trends not sudden regime flips. However, structurally: Gradual diversification reduces marginal demand for U.S. Treasuries over time. That can influence: • Long-term yield dynamics • Funding costs • Dollar strength cycles For Bitcoin and gold narratives, this feeds the “neutral reserve asset” thesis. But de-dollarization is evolutionary, not revolutionary. The dollar doesn’t lose dominance overnight. It erodes at the margins.

Peter Schiff: 'Bitcoin is backed by nothing and relies on code!' 📉 Also Peter Schiff: 'Buy this Gold Token that relies on code, a Cayman Islands fund, a leasing middleman, and a NASDAQ-listed tech firm!' Schiff finally admitted that blockchain is superior for payments; he just needs the comfort of a vault manager to sleep at night. He’s selling 'Digital Gold' with more steps and more counterparties. I’ll stick to the one where the code is the only middleman.
