XRP LEDGER ENTERS BRAZIL'S FINANCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Brazil's CSD BR is now using the XRP Ledger to mirror ownership records for BTG Pactual fund shares.

CSD BR remains the official record keeper, while XRPL adds a blockchain layer for verification and auditing.

The project covers a financial infrastructure with more than BRL 22 trillion in registered assets.

Future phases could explore native asset issuance and regulated trading on blockchain.

MY FINAL TAKE

This is bigger than a price story: it's a real-world test of blockchain inside regulated financial infrastructure.

Could Brazil become a major hub for tokenized assets on XRPL?

ARK'S $1.3B FUND GOES ONCHAIN—WALL STREET WATCHES!

🚨 Cathie Wood's ARK Invest is bringing its $1.3 BILLION venture fund on-chain through Securitize, marking another development in the tokenization of traditional finance.

And this isn't just another crypto token launch.

The ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) provides exposure to private companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe and Databricks.

Now, blockchain technology is becoming part of the infrastructure supporting access to that investment portfolio.

HERE'S WHY THIS MATTERS.

The fund's approximately $1.3 billion represents existing assets, not $1.3 billion in fresh capital entering Ethereum.

Investors receive tokenized interests in the fund rather than direct ownership of its individual portfolio companies. Existing eligibility requirements and redemption restrictions still apply.

But the bigger story is institutional adoption.

Traditional investment managers are exploring blockchain for fund ownership records, settlement and investment infrastructure.

If more institutions follow this approach, tokenization could become an increasingly important part of global financial markets.

THE MAPITUP TAKE:

The real breakthrough isn't simply putting a $1.3 billion fund on-chain. It's bringing blockchain infrastructure into an established investment product.

The next test is whether tokenization can improve accessibility, efficiency and settlement without compromising investor protections.

Could tokenized investment funds become a major part of Wall Street's future?

Well written—concise and highly readable. Marcus listed five reasons for PayPal’s failures in his scathing tweet, but this article missed one: the 2016 Visa agreement. Marcus originally said Visa “masterfully structured a deal.” That agreement forced PayPal to give up its ability to route users directly to bank ACH transactions—the very weapon it once used to bypass card networks and generate low-cost profits. The Q4 earnings report a decade later was the final reckoning: TPV rose 9%, but revenue only grew 4%. More money flowed through the pipeline, but now every drop had to pay Visa a toll. Some see this concession as fatal; others disagree. I lean toward the latter view, because the Visa agreement weakened PayPal’s cost structure, not its competitive moat. Even if it must now route through card networks and pay tolls, as long as users still actively choose that blue button, PayPal retains bargaining power and can still defend its moat. As a former PayPal president, Marcus understood the Visa deal was an external constraint—an unavoidable reality. This may also be why @withhazelhu chose not to elaborate on it in the article: it was an imposed shackles, not a voluntary choice. But how PayPal strategically navigated within those constraints was entirely its own decision. And then PayPal made a fundamental misjudgment: it chased payment volume over profitability and differentiation. It focused on unbranded checkout—the least negotiable segment—rather than branded checkout, where real margins, data, and customer relationships reside. The result? Branded checkout grew just 1%, and users are forgetting the blue button. Apple Pay proved an alternative path is viable: it doesn’t care whether transactions run on Visa or Mastercard—it cares whether users choose “Pay with Apple Pay.” As long as users select it, Apple owns the gateway, the data, and the brand. As for PYUSD, it’s a perfect symbol of PayPal’s strategic inertia: it “buys” user adoption with near-4% yields, dumping money on Solana to offer double-digit APYs (I still remember the Solana Foundation replying to an enthusiastic user that they didn’t fund it 🤔)—instead of creating indispensable transaction use cases. The result? Velocity is under 20. The gap between PYUSD and USDT is wider than the combined gap between USDC and RLUSD. Even in New York, I don’t use Venmo (why use the fee-based Zelle, right?). PayPal lost its mojo—but it didn’t lose it. It threw it away.

|˙꒳˙) Maybe I'll buy XLM The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially announced that it has granted a special exemption allowing asset management firm WisdomTree to operate its digital fund under unique trading rules. The specific details are as follows: Key Points Explained ✅ Fund in Scope • The fund in question is the “WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund.” • This is a **money market fund (MMF) that issues tokenized shares (beneficiary securities) on a blockchain**. ✅ What Has Been Approved? • Typically, investment funds such as MMFs trade based on their net asset value (NAV), calculated only once at the end of each trading day. • Under this new exemption, investors can now buy and sell shares directly with dealers at any time during the day at a fixed price of **$1 per share**, without waiting for the end-of-day NAV calculation (permitting secondary trading on the secondary market). ✅ What Are the Benefits? • By leveraging blockchain technology, settlement times are significantly faster than those of traditional investment funds. • Continuous trading during market hours enhances liquidity (ease of conversion to cash). ---- In short: This is an important development—regulatory relief has been granted to enable a new type of blockchain-based investment fund (digital MMF) to trade more **rapidly** and **flexibly** (with intraday trading), free from traditional constraints.
