Bitcoin quantum resistance proposal

BIP-360 merged into Bitcoin GitHub to protect cold storage funds from quantum attacks, though it does not address mempool vulnerabilities.

Quantum risk just got real. CryptoQuant CEO says 6.89M BTC, including Satoshi's, could be vulnerable. The community faces a brutal choice: freeze the old coins now, or watch them get stolen later. What's your take? #crypto #cryptonews $BTC

The only reason Bitcoin is down 50%+ against equities and Gold in the last year is Quantum computing. Nothing else is a substantial factor. 2025 was post-Halving year, it was Bitcoin's first negative one ever. 2025 was the first year Bitcoin had negative 2 year rolling correlation to Gold and went down. All other major gold rallies in the last 10 years saw Bitcoin follow within months, not 2025. 2025 had the perfect macro tailwinds, 10.5% growth in M2 money supply as high as 2020, yet we went down. 2025 had the perfect US legislation and policy backdrop, yet we went down. The reason is Quantum computing. Nothing else. 2025 was the first year we entered the Quantum Event Horizon: the timeframe to upgrade Bitcoin to be quantum proof (~2 years) is the same time until a non-zero chance of a CRQC existing that breaks Bitcoin. You now need to discount the value of Bitcoin by about 25%. If no progress is made in 2026, that discount factor jumps to 40%+. Every year we lose without upgrading Bitcoin from here results in an exponential reduction in value. We must solve Quantum for Bitcoin in 2026.

Good Morning all,Have a healthy , peaceful and stress free day for all.. Today I come with Blockchain updates on my today posts. At present BTC dropping hardly..that's why miners operating mining process in loss. Because for mining one BTC it's cost around $77k - $87$k,but BTC trading around $60k - 70k..By considering from any angle they still loss around 20 - 30%.. If miners is loss then how they show interest in mining .looking for alternative..in my opinion it's very serious issue going on in Blockchain today. One more niche regarding Quantum Computer coulb break ECDSA security signature those trending now. But nothing is impossible so we must secure BTC network from those attacks. In simple ,BTC network using ECDSA for protect private keys and SHA -256 protect mining &hash. Hear Quantum computers can hack ECDSA,not SHA-256 Means still BTC network is very strong compared to other networks. For this they need very powerful Quantum Computer, from using public key bydoing mathematics reverse, then can derive users Private keys. Means ownership of our wallet goes to their hand.Mostly like those attacks we may expect in major holding users, who holding $10 to $100,they cont,it's waste of money. So big players keepyour assets safe gaurd, anything will happend..But in my opinion it involved huge cost,so very less chance to get like those attacks. Also use secondary dary wallet for moving funds, one for Holding also keep multiple security features by using multi sign option. One more major trend regarding Trump - Era politics. He telling one doing one.. all think once he came we see mage bull run but from doing his selfies political needs he crushing complete ecosystem into dangerous jone. Hope soon we get relief rally. Due to Traffic War ,all go to fing safest assets like Gold and Silver than Crypto assets, from this shift we facing this much dump in crypto market today . In my opinion it's a good opportunity to average our holding..but go only Top 10.. Lets start our day with hot coffee ☕,light alredy start raising with pure peace. Be active, consistency with pay off..

Fresh debate around Bitcoin security as CryptoQuant flags 6.89M BTC in legacy addresses exposed to quantum computing risk. Analysts warn this overhang could weigh on price for years as institutions reassess long term security. @btcmarkets

"This is it. Crypto's done. Peter Schiff was right." Fair take. Most crypto? Yeah, probably cooked. But Bitcoin isn't your run-of-the-mill crypto. No CEO. No VCs. No one to rug you. True scarcity. True decentralization. Quantum threat? Everything digital faces it. Bitcoin can upgrade. Been declared dead 473 times. Still here. Why would this cycle be different?

Bitcoin BIP 360 is officially merged: Co-authored by StarkWare’s Isabel Foxen Duke, it introduces Pay-to-Merkle-Root (P2MR) to enable quantum-resistant script trees while preserving Taproot’s power. A proactive step against quantum threats to exposed public keys. $BTC

Bitcoin’s $3.8B "Quantum Discount" marks a shift: cryptographic resilience is now a macro priority. Freezing 4M vulnerable BTC moves us from Store of Value toward Architectural Resilience. The ledger is maturing. #Bitcoin #Quantum #Web3

Quantum computing fears rattling Bitcoin? Willy Woo's right—it's a long-term overhang on scarcity vs gold. ⚛️🛡️ But after decades managing TradFi risk, and 7+ in Web3, I know: true threats get stress-tested early. Crypto's edge? Upgradable protocols. #Bitcoin #Blockchain #DigitalAssets #Crypto

@SatoshiFlipper funny thing is, if quantum computers were a near-term threat, Bitcoin would be the last thing to worry about every bank account would get hacked immediately lol
