I saw a few folks start talking about eSui Dollar on @DeepBookonSui, but I feel we need additional context to explain what's actually happening here.
eSui Dollar is now the first synthetic dollar on DeepBook.
Day one support across Cetus, Navi, Bluefin, and Scallop, with more to come.
Sounds interesting until you ask: what does this actually solve?
Well, you can borrow dbUSDe, earn passive yield by holding it, or deploy it for active yield while using it as collateral.
Basically, access to dual yield strategies, composable primitives, etc.
But are these sustainable yields? What's the liquidation risk with the current volatility? And how many users actually need a synthetic dollar exposure with leverage?
I think the infra angle is more interesting:
→ DeepBook handles margin pools, liquidation engines, and flexible fee mechanics.
→ Traders can access margin via dollar assets, making digital dollars core infra.
That's actually useful when teams actually build on it and IF the liquidity is there to support real usage.
I want to see real volume, real user adoption (beyond farmers), and whether these yields hold up when the marketing push ends.
I remain hopeful about builders shipping in these market conditions!
