Vitalik Buterin rethinks L2 scaling

Vitalik Buterin said L2s are no longer scaling Ethereum as intended, citing slow progress and base-layer improvements. He urged L2s to focus on unique value beyond generic scaling.

$PLAY continues to attract speculative attention as traders point to its history of sudden explosive moves. Supporters of the bullish case argue that strong accumulation and controlled price action could set the stage for another sharp breakout if momentum returns.

This remains a high-risk setup, but many traders are watching closely for signs of renewed buying pressure and a potential surge in volatility. 🔥#Vitalik Buterin rethinks L2 scaling

Vitalik just published one of the most important pieces he's written in years — and it's not about price. It's about what Ethereum Foundation actually is, and what it's choosing to become.

The core message: EF only holds 0.16% of all ETH. Compare that to other blockchain foundations sitting on 10–50% of their supply. Resources are limited — so EF is making a hard choice: stop trying to do everything, and go deep on the things nobody else will do.

The framework Vitalik keeps coming back to is CROPS — Censorship resistance, openness, privacy, and security. His argument is that Ethereum shouldn't compete on TPS alone or try to be "slightly more decentralized than the next chain." That's the road to mediocrity. Instead, Ethereum should aim to be genuinely shocking on the CROPS dimension — provably bug-free smart contracts through AI-assisted formal verification, true intermediary-minimized transaction inclusion, and privacy that's default rather than optional. Fortune

The Google analogy he uses is sharp: a company making choices doesn't represent the whole world, and someone needs to be the "unreasonable person" resisting the mainstream drift toward surveillance, centralization, and corporate capture of technology. Ethereum is making a deliberate bet to be that.

This means hard choices — including letting respected people leave EF so their work can attract independent funding. EF will be a smaller ship, but a more focused and durable one.

My read: this is actually the most bullish long-term signal for $ETH that doesn't involve price. A foundation that knows what it is — and what it isn't — is far more valuable than one trying to be everything. The question is whether the market prices conviction before or after the technical milestones land.DYOR.

$ETH ETH/USDT Analysis - 1D Timeframe

Current price: $2,118.57 (-3.05%)

ETH continues to face selling pressure, trading below all major EMAs on the daily chart. The coin has been respecting a clear downtrend structure with lower highs and lower lows over the past several weeks.

Key Technicals:

- Price is sitting well below EMA5 (2175), EMA10 (2221), and EMA30 (2262)

- RSI6 at 18.31 extremely oversold, indicating selling momentum is getting exhausted

- RSI12 & RSI24 also trending lower but showing early signs of weakness in bearish momentum

The recent decline appears driven by overall market correction, BTC dominance, and cautious sentiment in the broader crypto space.

Market Verdict: We are in a downtrend, not ranging. While the structure remains bearish, the deeply oversold conditions suggest a potential relief bounce or consolidation could be near.

My View: This dip is creating an interesting zone for spot accumulation for those with a longer-term horizon. Short-term traders should wait for confirmation above $2,260 before getting aggressive.
