The Internet turned anyone into a publisher and any company into global commerce.
AI is turning anyone into a programmer.
Crypto needs a similar simple proposition. Turning anyone into___ ?
- your own banker? (self-control of your money) - owning your digital identity (not Google’s or Facebook’s) - controlling your own data (not inside Google or Apple) It’s not so clear yet for crypto.

There are learning parallels between the history of blockchain smart contract security and AI agents current vulnerabilities. Smart contracts prove that code cannot deviate from rules day in and day out. Today, entire marketplaces and businesses are designed around smart contracts. The AI alignment will be that probabilistic agents should be made to not deviate from objective boundaries, just as smart contracts have boundaries too, which are critical and necessary to avoid failures.

Fantastic piece by @eth_systems depicting the future of institutional cash. For context, US money market funds hold nearly $8 trillion, yet they still run on silos: private registers, banking-hour settlement, and constant reconciliation between fund, agent, custodian and bank. On Ethereum, the ledger becomes the register. Shares settle around the clock, move directly between holders, and work as collateral. Compliance runs inside every transfer. Zero-knowledge proofs keep positions hidden from the public, while the transfer agent sees every share. No more silos. Instead, continuous visibility is provided, while privacy is preserved.

This is the key nugget in the release, coming from JP Morgan. It explains why they are committed to Ethereum, the only credibly neutral, programmable public chain with sufficient liquidity and assets to make it viable for institutional usage. “Ethereum's established depth of onchain liquidity and tokenized assets makes it a natural next public blockchain for JPM Coin.”

In 2016, The Business Blockchain asked a practical question: What can blockchain do for business? 10 yrs later, my upcoming book, Trustshift answers a more mature one: What happens when programmable trust becomes infrastructure? *hint: Ethereum New book cover. Let this sink in. This is like 23 upgrades at once. Done twice a year, it’s almost like having something new for each week of the year. Yes, Ethereum innovation is continuous. Digest. Repeat.

The big picture: Ethereum's next competitive advantage Ethereum's next phase is not simply about processing more transactions. It's about making more sophisticated economic and institutional functions executable, verifiable, and less dependent on trusted intermediaries. This week's research reinforces three developments worth following closely:

Ethereum’s dominance is the reality. 💪 Others will contort themselves to pick and choose some small segment they do well in, but you need to zoom out to see the full picture.
