Hedge funds sold about $20B of tech shares in 2 weeks. Most of the action was investors cutting what they owned. Existing holdings were sold at roughly 3.5 times the pace of new short bets, NDTV Profit reported, citing Goldman Sachs. AI stocks saw a particularly sharp reversal. 5 days of selling wiped out cumulative net buying since early 2025! Why does it matter? When big investors cut the same crowded stocks, prices can fall without fresh company bad news. That is often viewed as warning about selling pressure. It's however NOT a proof that #AI is finished, or that the next bounce will last.
