This is very true and relevant right now. Much of the industry has gradually repackaged the principles of cryptocurrency into centralized systems designed around control, intermediation and value extraction. The irony is that as AI advances, the weaknesses of this architecture may become increasingly difficult to ignore. Trust becomes more expensive when the ability to exploit it scales faster than our ability to defend it. The original cypherpunk principles of decentralization, censorship resistance and minimizing trust may become more relevant than ever. These principles emerged from an understanding that concentrated authority creates concentrated risk. The industry may eventually discover that the very properties it has spent years compromising in many forms are the ones it really needs the most.
