A stranger just messaged me on Telegram, saying they found that my wallet has 1 ETH unclaimed on Karak. I recalled that this was indeed true—I had forgotten to claim it after bridging back to the mainnet via Karak’s official bridge, as the wait was too long. After confirming the link was official, I claimed the ETH. They found my contact info through Arkham and requested a 25% reward. It’s an interesting way to earn money. Most people would likely be happy to send a small tip as compensation.

I looked it up, and it’s actually true... OneKey’s English version includes compensation, but the Chinese version doesn’t even mention it. Section 9, Clause 8 (Liability Cap): "In any case, the total liability for Company under this Agreement shall not exceed the greater of: a) the market value of 0.1 ETH; or b) 100 Singapore Dollars." This clause is unique to the English version and has no equivalent in the Chinese version. That means the theoretical upper limit amounts to roughly a few hundred U.S. dollars. Section 9, Clause 3 aligns with the Chinese version and explicitly lists typical theft scenarios as exempt from liability: token loss resulting from user disclosure of wallet passwords, private keys, seed phrases, or Keystore files; lending or transferring wallets; authorizing others to use devices; or downloading the app from non-official sources. Losses due to lost devices, deleted apps without backups, or forgotten passwords are similarly excluded. Overall, the service is still provided on an “AS IS” and “WITH ALL FAULTS” basis, with no security reserve or commitment to compensate for theft. Thus, when considering both versions together, the conclusion is clearer: neither version specifies any compensation amount for theft. The Chinese version’s logic is “reserves the right to refuse compensation,” while the English version adds a fallback: even if the loss results from platform-side issues—not user key exposure—the maximum payout is capped at either 0.1 ETH or 100 SGD, whichever is higher. For users holding substantial assets, this cap holds virtually no practical significance.

Hardware wallets are essentially a dark forest—you never know if the person selling or gifting you one has malicious intent, or even if the company’s founder is planning a big exit to retire. That’s why I’ve never used a hardware wallet. Even collaborations between exchanges and projects giving away branded hardware wallets are incredibly foolish—you have no way of knowing whether the manufacturer is trustworthy, and if something goes wrong, you’ll be dragged into the legal fallout. The risks clearly outweigh the benefits. The Ledger situation did show early signs back in March. At that time, @star5490’s WeChat account was frequently impersonated by people claiming to give away Ledger wallets—likely all part of the same operation. This WeChat screenshot is from March. If you’re holding a significant amount of funds and don’t want to leave them on an exchange, using your old iPhone, disconnected from the internet, as an offline wallet might be a safer option?

After dinner with Ondo’s team, the first thought everyone had was: Ondo is incredibly wealthy!!!! The dining standard is completely unmatched by any other project team. @fullportmatt — no surprise you’re a Chinese son-in-law; your Mandarin is fluent, and you can even speak Sichuan and Shanghainese. You even raised glasses of Moutai with everyone, showing clear expertise in Shandong culture as well. The crypto space needs project teams like this that perfectly blend Eastern and Western cultures—able to chat effortlessly with Wall Street while also connecting deeply with the community. During dinner, Ondo’s team member @onchaindana painted a vision of Ondo becoming the on-chain Wall Street. It’s clear they’ve still got many big moves up their sleeve! All the time I’ve spent researching Ondo since March has been worth it—true value investing.

A deposit project on Robinhood has recently gained popularity: @MeridianCapDAO. As of today, the total value locked (TVL) in deposits has exceeded $10M. It is currently in Phase 1: Genesis. Users deposit specified assets such as ETH or USDC into the farm to earn gMCD, with a fixed reward pool of approximately 500,000 gMCD. However, there is a 2%–5% deposit fee. After the farm closes, only the principal still remaining in the pool can be exchanged for gMCD at a fixed rate of $0.10 per gMCD within a 24-hour window, with no slippage—meaning the timing of your deposit shouldn’t matter. Effectively, this is like paying 5% of your principal to participate in a token launch. The total project size is around $1.5M, with a $100,000 cap per address—currently oversubscribed. Phase 2 involves exchanging gMCD for MCD over a linear vesting period of 0–7 days. You immediately receive only about 10% of your allocation; the remainder is forfeited and burned unless you wait the full 7 days to claim the full amount. This design forces users to make a deliberate choice. Phase 3 allocates half of the treasury funds to buy back MCD over 60 days. The repurchased MCD is paired with the other half of the treasury to form a liquidity pool (LP), and buybacks continue continuously. This project feels distinctly old-school, and I’ve heard the founder is a longtime OG from OHM—no wonder the design reflects that ethos. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a purely DeFi project like this. I plan to deposit a small amount to test it out, since logically, the initial circulating supply is limited to the 500,000 gMCD distributed by the farm—the lowest-cost way to acquire MCD. The team holds only 10% of MCD, locked for 90 days, meaning minimal selling pressure early on. In an ideal scenario, if everyone holds, the TWAP-based buybacks over 60 days could gradually push the price upward?

I’m stuck in a vicious cycle again—everything I made is gone. Looking back, AI advised me not to trade meme coin contracts and not to place orders late at night. This major drawdown perfectly matched the rules I ignored. How can I possibly control myself when I get carried away? Time to take a break and start over. https://t.co/u6Yg6uXf9n
