If you want to stream payments across LN, I added a feature to Balance of Satoshis for that. It works with LNURL and Lightning Addresses, and it’s smart about it: it requests multiple invoices, right-sizes each payment to keep fee rates low, and stops early if fees get too high.

Shout out to the public routing nodes of the Lightning Network. The real ones. They protect our privacy.
They keep the network resilient.
They put their own money on the line. We need more of them, especially independent operators. Let's make life easier for them going forward.

I tell people to actively manage their hot wallet risk on Lightning and recommend Loop Out to do it. Some of them secure millions or billions in assets and still hesitate at the 0.1% service fee. At that scale, skimping on security risks millions to save a fraction of a percent.

Now is a tricky time for LN and BTC because we have the greatest opportunity to grow we've ever had because building is so much easier, but we also have the greatest threat we've ever had because the entire software stack from the dawn of time needs to be audited and maybe redone

A BTC security ‘red team’ would be a concept where white hats would launch realistic hacking attacks. Like make an evil software update and try and call it a security fix and get people to update. Social engineering, breaking the rules. Make people realize it’s a jungle out there

I see the move to AI as like the move from 2D to 3D animated entertainment. I can appreciate the loss of some artistry in the same way but I enjoy the ultimate outcome. For BTC vs Fiat though, there’s little I would miss there. The delicate art of making my cheeseburger cost $20?

AI can now find security flaws and steal BTCs, that's bad. But you can use AI to make more secure software and check there are no holes, that's good. But AI is always improving so no security holes found right now doesn't mean future better AI won't find them, watch out for that.

LN routing fees are different from chain fees since they are a % of the amount but one way they are similar is individual routing nodes need to charge similar fee rates. If one destination becomes expensive, you can buy inbound at another to arbitrage, which levels out the fees.

A fun LN project right now might be one where you clone popular backend APIs like redis as a service and make it A) LN payable and B) encrypted end2end and C) OSS. So people paying for these APIs could switch and pay you instead and the pitch is they’re no longer locked in at all

A longstanding problem in BTC seems more pronounced in a code abundant world: you can make a cool piece of code or a concept that is interesting but get zero adoption. Distribution and attention and focus on problem solving for users aren’t disappeared by coding faster or better.
