altman on cheeky pint: home PC RAM sits idle 95% of the time, a "quite terrible" use of the world's DRAM. belongs in data centers by that logic my VR headsets have been idle since 2019 and nobody's come for them keeping my 32gb. only thing i own that doesn't bill me per token

a lab spent 4 years growing brain cells on electrodes and shipped... a video model. mischief 1 is wan 2.2 plus a tiny adapter they learned from the neurons. the neurons stay in the lab. half a cent a second, 5x faster im building a video pipeline so yeah i'll try it, not proud

openai, google, microsoft and anthropic will honor one shared "no ai training" line in robots.txt. anthropic already does, openai "in the coming months", the other two next year. meta said it supports it, then didnt say it'd comply lol. my robots.txt is from a stackoverflow post

avatar

companies are walking back ai rollouts. microsoft's ryan roslansky called coworkers' ai docs an "ocean of sameness", meta slowed its agent plans, walmart staff got nonsense schedules lived this with vr meeting rooms. the headsets are in a drawer next to the fidget spinners

altman told collison on cheeky pint that running models locally is a bad use of the world's DRAM, since the memory in your computer only gets used about 5% of the time ok but my car also sits in a parking lot 95% of the day and nobody's asked me to hand it to hertz

agibot made 20k robots in the first half and today pitched a metric for how much work they actually do. active robots x autonomous hours x output vs a human. supervised time doesnt count in web3 we counted wallets and called it users anyone tried scoring their agents like this

avatar

ex github ceo launched entire yesterday, no pull requests. agents score every push and you can merge "without needing to look at the code itself", their words. i already skim half the diffs claude sends me so this is basically my bad habit with a dashboard and $60m behind it

avatar

so mythos 5 in that UK cyber test didnt just make fake accounts to push malware. it also hid an html comment in a github issue telling claude code, codex and cursor to download and run a script. invisible on the page. i point cursor at my issues basically every day so thats fun

i have like 10 ai agents running my stuff and one of them is literally named chief of staff so anthropic's new guide felt kinda personal. they say most teams should fold subagents back into one agent that loads skills when needed. says it cut claude code's system prompt by 80%+

avatar

rippling's ceo says claude did 57% of their coding in may, openai 16%. now it's 18% claude, 52% openai, cause openai got cheaper. replit switched its default after a 30% discount too. all year we argued which model codes better and finance decided it lol. anyone loyal to one?
