Ever since I stopped using margin, I've had almost zero anxiety when the market bleeds. If anything, I get more excited about the opportunities lol. Margin is a powerful tool when used responsibly. The problem is too many people underestimate the risk, don't set limits, and end up learning the hard way. There's a different kind of peace that comes with investing without borrowed money. 😮‍💨

Funny how during a raging bull market, everyone wishes they bought when there was blood in the streets. But when the bloodbath actually comes, those same people are too scared to buy. THEN when the market recovers, they call the people who kept buying and held their conviction “lucky.” Bull markets build wealth. Bear markets create opportunity. What you do during both matters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Crazy that it's already the last week of October. Holiday season is right around the corner. This year went crazy fast! I'm sure everyone's wondering if we will finally get that Santa rally or more of the same chop. Either way, one thing I've learned over the years is that you can't control what the market does, but you can control how you react to it. Market doesn't go up forever just like it doesn't go down forever. Have a plan, manage your risk, and don't let a few bad weeks make you abandon something you spent months building. Sometimes the best move is simply sticking to the plan. Remember, they say success is when preparation meets opportunity. But I think patience deserves a seat at that table too. Just because a decision isn't paying off today doesn't necessarily mean it was the wrong one. Sometimes you're wrong. Sometimes you're just early. The important part is knowing the difference, and having the patience to see it through when your conviction is still backed by reason. 🫡

Under $100 for the first time in months. I’ll cherish this til oil spikes again and gas prices go up lol https://t.co/kRHBv6AB2s

So in plain English, inflation is moving in the wrong direction, and that's not what the market wanted to see. Gasoline accounted for more than half of September's monthly inflation increase, but even excluding food and energy, core inflation came in hotter than expected. It's pretty important because it suggests the problem isn't entirely limited to higher gas prices. For the stock market, this creates another headache. Higher inflation makes it harder for the Fed to justify cutting interest rates, which means borrowing costs could stay elevated longer than investors anticipated. That's generally a headwind for growth stocks, especially companies whose valuations depend heavily on future earnings. The silver lining is that energy-driven inflation can reverse relatively quickly if gasoline prices stabilize. One report doesn't determine the Fed's next move, but it does make the path toward lower rates more complicated. At the end of the day, markets don't just react to the numbers themselves, but how those numbers compare to expectations. And with inflation surprising to the upside, it'll be interesting to see how the market prices this in at open.

This is an interesting direction for $OPEN. 2% down, no traditional mortgage, fixed payments for 5 years, and the ability to gradually build equity. The upside is lower barriers to homeownership, predictable housing expenses, and an alternative for people priced out of traditional financing. The trade-off is shared ownership and potentially giving up some future appreciation. The main questions are how equity is valued, what happens after year five, and how much it costs to exit. From a business perspective, this could be even more interesting for Opendoor. Instead of relying primarily on buying, renovating, and reselling homes, they’re exploring a model built around longer-term customer relationships, recurring revenue, and shared equity appreciation. That’s potentially a more scalable business model IF (Big if) the economics work, although the capital requirements and risks are relevant. I like the direction. Real estate needs more innovation, especially around affordability and accessibility. But the fine print matters, and the model needs to benefit homeowners just as much as the company. Now if only Opendoor could make their cash offers a little more competitive. Speaking from recent experience. 😂

Happy Friday! ☕️ Interesting times across the markets, and Pokémon has been on an absolute tear lately. How much longer can it run? Nobody knows. Could we be approaching a top? Absolutely. Could prices continue climbing? Absolutely. That's why doing your own research and buying what you genuinely love is important. But there's something else worth considering. If you're holding an asset that could fundamentally change your life or your family's financial future, there's nothing wrong with seriously considering taking profits. I've always asked myself, would you rather sell and miss out on more gains, or hold and watch those gains disappear in a crash? There's no universally right answer. Everyone has different goals, risk tolerances, and financial circumstances. Just remember, you don't have to capture every dollar of upside to come out ahead. Cheers 🍻

Pretty interesting week for the markets. We saw the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hit new highs before pulling back a bit. Nothing too surprising considering how well the markets have been running lately. Next week should be interesting with inflation data and big bank earnings coming up. I'm more curious about how the market reacts to the numbers than the numbers themselves. Either way, plenty to keep an eye on. 🫡

💭 Real Talk with Richie (10/10/26) Crazy to think that exactly one year ago today, everyone was euphoric. Markets were hitting ATH after ATH, portfolios were looking beautiful, and everyone was expecting a Santa rally to close out 2025. ... then 10/10 happened. Nearly $19 billion in crypto liquidations, margin calls left and right, and what was supposed to be an incredible end to the year turned into months of pain. Instead of celebrating gains, everyone was eating ramen trying to survive lol. The whole Jane Street 10am selling theory that came out afterward only made things crazier. Just goes to show how quickly sentiment can change. One minute everyone feels like a genius, the next you're questioning every financial decision you've ever made. Still gives me PTSD thinking about it. 😅 Anyways, here's hoping we have the opposite kind of close to Q4 this year. Happy Saturday fam 🫡
