A seemingly simple crypto lending product may simultaneously involve centralized custody, wrapped assets, smart contracts, liquidation mechanisms, and floating-rate markets. At the end of the day, we must understand exactly what we’re buying. Financial products are becoming increasingly easy to use—users can now complete lending and borrowing operations that once required complex on-chain actions with just a few clicks. But a simplified interface doesn’t mean the risks have been simplified.

If we want people to choose self-custody over ETFs and centralized services, we need to make decentralized tools safer, simpler, and more user-friendly. Here are some BCH projects working toward that: 🔐 Electron Cash — Multisig, cold storage, offline signing, SPV verification, and reusable payment addresses (RPA). 🛡️ Paytaca — Non-custodial wallet with multisig, P2P trading, CashTokens, and DeFi integration. 💚 Selene — Open-source, non-custodial wallet focused on simple P2P payments and dApp connectivity. 🥷 CashFusion — Decentralized CoinJoin protocol for improving transaction privacy without custodial mixing. 🔄 Cauldron DEX — On-chain CashTokens swaps and liquidity pools without centralized exchange custody. Self-custody shouldn't require being a technical expert. That's why building better tools matters.

Ten years from now, whether people still call it “crypto” really doesn't matter. Maybe one day, the #BCH ecosystem will have all kinds of banks. So what? There's nothing inherently wrong with the word “bank.” What matters is whether these institutions respect your property rights and allow you to freely hold, transfer, and use your own money, regardless of what they call themselves. More importantly, if you choose not to use their services, can you still access and use your money independently? We don't need to get rid of banks. We just need to stop being forced to depend on them. What we call the technology doesn't matter. What matters is how much control and freedom ultimately remain in the hands of ordinary people.

I don’t find it surprising at all to sell Bitcoin ETFs and buy stocks of stablecoin companies. Over the years, Wall Street has repackaged Bitcoin into financial products it understands, building an entire ecosystem around dollar liquidity, custody, and trading. One is the wrapper; the other is the filling. Without this dollar liquidity and financial infrastructure, how could this big “bun” seem so appealing?

Looking back at BCH’s recent technological developments, CashTokens was officially launched on the Bitcoin Cash mainnet in 2023, providing a foundation for native tokens and programmable state. The 2026 BCH upgrade added scripting capabilities such as loops and functions. Although BCH now supports smart contracts, it uses the UTXO model, requiring developers to learn an entirely different technical ecosystem. This presents a real barrier to entry. The significance of SolidCash is to lower this barrier, making it easier for developers already familiar with Solidity to contribute to BCH development.

More noteworthy than any single proposal is the increasingly clear long-term vision behind BCH-1. From ecosystem onboarding and developer cultivation to privacy technology and foundational protocol research, efforts across multiple fronts are advancing simultaneously. This isn’t merely a collection of isolated projects—it’s laying the groundwork for a more complete ecosystem. The research being invested in today could unlock new technological possibilities for years to come. The developers attracted today may become the builders of the next generation of projects 👾💚
