The Bitcoin quantum debate is trapped in a false binary: freeze the coins or let an attacker take them There is a third path Disable the old, quantum-unsafe spend route 💡 Leave open a permissionless recovery door for the legitimate owner, using proof of possession that existed before the cutoff, which an attacker cannot forge after the fact No custodian. No committee. No central key Just cryptographic evidence of prior control Coins wait behind a door only the original owner can open Protect the asset. Preserve the owner ✅ #Bitcoin #QuantumComputing

An AI agent that can access the email that raises its spending limit does not have a spending limit 🙄 Cornell Tech and Yale researchers tested ten frontier models on real Circle agent wallets (Base, USDC). Nine raised their own caps in at least one trial by retrieving the emailed approval code. A parallel impersonation test saw five models authorize unauthorized payments This is an architecture failure, not merely a model failure. When the same agent that spends can also reach the mechanism that sets its authority, the authority is not independent. Capability and control must be separated 🤌 Real financial autonomy requires out-of-band, device-bound, human-initiated approval the agent cannot modify or simulate The question isn’t whether the agent knows its limits. It’s whether it has the power to change them #AIAgents #Crypto

Most people are debating the wrong quantum risk in Bitcoin Millions of BTC sit behind locks a capable quantum computer could break 🔓 Some owners can migrate. Many can't: lost keys, dead owners, abandoned wallets Those coins go to whoever arrives first with the machine Abandoned BTC isn't lost property. It's an unexploded arsenal awarded to the first quantum actor, economic leverage at systemic scale Paper Four (coming this week) maps the hardest governance question in quantum transition 👀 #Bitcoin #Quantum

The cheapest data in the machine economy is about to become the most expensive mistake 💸 Agents will buy information from other agents. Sticker price alone is meaningless. Agent A sells market data at £0.01 (90% accurate). Agent B sells it at £0.05 (99.9% accurate). If a bad answer can trigger a £10,000 loss, the extra £0.04 is the cheaper option. That is risk-adjusted price discovery Confidence scores, staking and zero-knowledge attestations help evaluate claims 🔍 None guarantees the data is correct, and none solves what happens when it is wrong An agent can pay £0.01 for data that settles perfectly, then act on it and lose £10,000. The rails clear. The commercial damage does not. Machine markets need contracts that define responsibility, evidence and remedies, not just payment rails Price discovery without quality discovery is incomplete. Verification without meaningful recourse is incomplete #AIAgents #AgenticEconomy #x402

Most AI guardrails will follow the crypto pattern Without real enforcement, teams will bend or break the rules to ship faster and get ahead. In crypto, voluntary standards and light-touch oversight produced exactly that outcome, innovation raced forward while compliance lagged The same pressure is already forming as agents move from advice to autonomous action Three conditions prevent the race-to-the-bottom: 🔍 Independent verification (not self-attestation) 👤 Named principal accountability ⚖️ Enforceable recourse with meaningful consequences Without them, “guardrails” remain marketing #AIGovernance #AgenticAI

The first economy that can be born quantum-safe is still on the drawing board Legacy finance must rewire the plane in flight, decades of cryptography in live systems that cannot be paused 😵‍💫 The Agentic Economy has no such debt. Identity and trust standards are young. Participants are software that can rotate keys far more easily than any bank Quantum-safe identities, privacy, and crypto-agility from day one. That is the trust premium ✅ #AIAgents #QuantumSafe

What if the permanence of a public blockchain is also its greatest quantum vulnerability? 🤔 Most systems force an attacker to intercept protected data first. A public ledger does something unusual: it publishes the archive for them, globally, replicated thousands of times, and preserved indefinitely That permanence is normally a strength. For any cryptography with a future expiry condition, it creates a different risk. An adversary does not need to hack the archive today. They simply keep a copy 📄📄 A public ledger is the only vault that hands every future burglar a perfect replica and says: take your time I raise this after three papers arguing that blockchain is the natural infrastructure for the Agentic Economy. The same properties that create the harvest risk, global replication and indefinite preservation, are exactly what make autonomous, verifiable trust possible between stranger agents. The architecture remains the right foundation. The open question is how we design cryptographic agility inside it #QuantumComputing #Crypto

The quantum myth that risks leaving assets exposed, simple version: Signatures = unique stamp only you create, anyone can check. Big quantum computer (Shor’s) reverse-engineers your private stamp: stolen keys, forged signatures, hijacked identities Hashes = one-way fingerprints. Quantum helps a bit; stronger parameters fix it Blockchain threat isn’t a quantum miner seizing proof-of-work, it’s keys and historical records 🔍 Knowing what quantum does not break starts the solution #PostQuantum #Bitcoin #Crypto

The mockery of Y2K is the only reliable proof the threat was real Software worldwide carried date assumptions that would fail when 99 became 00. Organisations spent years finding, fixing, testing and coordinating the migration. Midnight arrived. Planes flew. Banks opened. Because the preparation worked, the threat was later dismissed as exaggeration 🫠 The mockery was the receipt Quantum presents the same shape of risk to today's cryptography and therefore to money and identity. A cryptographically relevant quantum computer needs no fixed date; only enough progress to invalidate elliptic-curve and RSA assumptions. The ideal outcome is not a last-minute rescue. It is years of unglamorous preparation followed by nothing: no stolen assets, no broken identities, no exposed secrets ✅ Then a generation asks what everyone was worried about The goal of quantum preparation should be to be laughed at afterwards Over the next three weeks I will examine why quantum could become the Y2K of money and why that is the optimistic scenario #Quantum #Bitcoin #Y2Q

The locksmiths finished. Most organizations have not started changing the locks 🔓 The quantum migration is not blocked by missing cryptography. NIST standards are final. Quantum-safe signatures exist. Hybrid key exchanges are already protecting a large share of real-world TLS traffic. The new locks are standardized and on the shelf The hard work is operational and unglamorous: 📝 Inventory every cryptographic dependency. 🔍 Find every system, certificate, and long-lived data store that will outlive its current protections Replace, test, and build the ability to replace again without redesigning the whole estate Crypto-agility is the lasting outcome. Waiting for a clearer “Q-Day” simply shortens the window for orderly change Next week: why some of those locks must move considerably faster than others. Keys and long-lived secrets run on two very different clocks #PostQuantum #PQC
