last year, when bonkfun were up to their shenanigans criming inorganic dogshit to try and take marketshare from @Pumpfun i would regularly give credit to pump for engendering and cultivating the only real onchain culture, certainly as far as solana goes. one of the big reasons that i dog on pump so hard these days is because they really had a good thing going for a little while last year when they were supporting communities and really giving hope to a larger swathe of traders that they might win if they could identify good narratives and help build definable communities on CT and onchain. i still think that pumpfun could return to this kind of environment, but it would require wholesale change, in their employees, the KOLs they attach their brand to, their liquidity structure, their fee structure. the way they have shifted their business model away from being the launchpad for meme culture and into this 'jack of all trades master of none' swiss army knife kind of stake casino hybrid is just antithetical to their customer base, and the last few months have really been an attempt to take marketshare AT ALL COSTS, feeding their KOLs in an attempt to create the loudest noise on CT for their product, which quite frankly FAILS their users across the board. be better pumpfun, there are still ways to be a better version of yourself.

btw in case you've never bothered to even look at their documentation, here is a full chart, using the figures directly taken from @Pumpfun 's fee documents, which shows just how much they are making on the bonding curve Vs graduation. a coin being traded on the bonding curve is generating some 19x more revenue for the protocol than anything post bond. as coins trade up to a roughly 10m mc valuation (based on current rough prices of sol at around 100 dollars), the only thing still decreasing in fees paid is money to the creators. this additionally creates even less incentives for communities to build as they get bigger. so in totality, if you didn't know, pumpfuns fee structure, as a revenue driving element, is 19x more efficient pre-bond, and coins that graduate off the bonding curve are 19x less appealing to pumpfun as a business, with creators of community based coins earning progressively less from fees as their coin trades higher, whilst pumpfun earn a flat LP fee of 0.2% no matter how high the coin trades.

if you want to find a truly excruciatingly miserable way to spend the next 5-10 minutes of your precious mortal coil: 1) open fomo 2) look at a coin with lots of volume 3) go to feed 4) turn on 'thesis only' 5) remove your minimum size filter 6) scroll through and read

cut the asteroid trade too. idek what to say about robinhood, long and this specific token anymore. maybe too early, but clearly was a ticker that generated far more hate, consternation and overly reductive narratives of it just being a vamp. tried to convey my ideas about it being a funnel for spacex stock liquidity onchain, but the chart was probably farmed aggressively by the notable KOLs who were in the coin, the token was hard fudded alot by spacehood bros who wanted there to be only one spacex coin on long, and furthermore, there was no real community to speak of, just people looking for a trade. for weeks on end I was pretty much the only person tweeting about the coin, which obviously put it in a bad position. then the meta died, the token was abused repeatedly by top holders who sold aggressively and proceeded to pump and dump it...which leaves us where we are today, sub 500k. all in all I exited with $5.5k profit, which is absolutely awful for a coin I was up nearly $300k on. capitulated some 0.4% stonk at the lows and bought 2% of this, roundtripped the lot, and portfolio is almost back to where it was a few months ago. a disasterclass all in all.

sold. dev repeatedly dodging dozens of people asking about automation of buybacks and burns, lots of revenue unallocated for said purpose. when dev goes from rapidly communicating updates on technical developments to generalised rambling rants about pumpfun and how they're going to change the game, it just feels like a gamble. maybe ill be wrong and wake up and it's all running as intended but not going to sleep on that uncertainty. pretty disappointing, as with basically everything onchain these days. roundtripped best part of 10k into a 2k loss. lame.

anyways enough of this talk. this space has been bought out, the discourse has turned stale. those who haven't left/retired yet have been compromised or are yelling into the void. nothing is going to change, so just going to get on with trading in whatever capacity and see if i can still win without leveraging my following/taking paid deals, bundling, deploying or multiwalleting. feels almost next to impossible, but this cycle is the last roll of the dice. then it's time to move on.

so many people to unfollow, mute and/or block. the last few weeks have really shown just how easily bought people are. when the chips are down, just how many people are willing to take pumpfuns money? genuinely pathetic to see unfold - don't need that kind of person on my radar on CT at all.
