Owning bitcoin is about more than holding it. It's knowing your risks and planning for what comes next. Highlights from our team at #BFFS26 👇 🎤 @adamobrien's keynote: The Counterparty Ladder Every bitcoin holder has counterparties: custodians, exchanges, hardware wallet makers, even the tax code. Each rung trades one set of risks for another. His point: the biggest risk isn't sitting on a lower rung. It's the counterparties you don't know you have. 🏛️ @TellyBitcoin on the @BTCFOGroup panel with @Beau_Turner21, @jordanguess, Kyle and @wyattorourke_, on passing bitcoin wealth to the next generation: → Key access and your beneficiary plan get built together. → When your advisor and CPA disagree on bitcoin, your plan pays for it. A coordinated team fixes that. → Year-end moves like tax loss harvesting work best planned early. → Self-custody is a direction, not a starting line. Congrats to @jordanguess and @wyattorourke_ on a great Year 2 of Bitcoin for Financial Services. On to Year 3!

18 years ago today, Satoshi emailed a cryptography mailing list: "I've been working on a new electronic cash system that's fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party." This week showed why that last part was the point. Short alt (105):Satoshi, 18 years ago today: "fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party." Still the whole feature.

The 2008 crash wasn’t really about houses. It was about the paper stacked on top of them. Q and @adamobrien on the Bitcoin Well Podcast: PBIT could be bitcoin’s version. Hold the house, not the paper. https://t.co/12jJmmBiI0

Christine Lagarde leaves the ECB in February. At least a king owned his country, so he cared what his grandkids inherited. A central banker rents it for eight years, then walks away. You keep the mess. The next appointee keeps the powers. She’s leaving the ECB. The digital euro isn’t. Bitcoin couldn't be reached for comment.
