Quantum computing will be the primary market driver during the next phase of global crypto market cap expansion: discover which blockchains have the highest likelihood of being quantum-safe by 2027. Those who read this at the start of the year would now understand why the primary thematic investment conviction was reserved for ZCASH.

The Quantum Alliance, established in Lisbon a few days ago, identifies March 2028 as the deadline by which a quantum computer could break current cryptographic protections. Members of the Quantum Alliance include: Quantus, American Fortress, Intmax, Keystone, Midnight Foundation, Postquant Labs, Abelian, The Vault, and Hacken. The Quantum Alliance urges the entire Bitcoin community to immediately begin discussing post-quantum transition, as consensus changes and migrations could take years. Meanwhile, some influencers and maximalists claim the quantum threat is merely FUD.

This is a classic example of ignorance and stupidity in the crypto world, unaware that the world's largest banks have already launched an official roadmap to become quantum-resistant within two years using NIST-approved signature standards, just as intelligence services in the US, EU, and China are doing. For example, the White House approved EO 14412 this summer to protect government systems and critical infrastructure from advanced cyberattacks made possible by future quantum computers. The European Commission will issue the Quantum Act by the end of 2026 to create a unified legal and governance framework across European states. Ethereum, Solana, Ripple, and Zcash have each launched their own roadmap to become quantum-resistant by 2028. The one that hasn't done anything yet—having no official roadmap while continuing to mock others in the meantime—is the Bitcoin community. On Quantum Day, I explained the various market scenarios that could play out over the next three years and, above all, the concrete financial risks faced by those holding Bitcoin while assuming that the quantum threat is a problem for 20 years down the road

As 2026 approaches the fourth quarter, Bitcoin still hasn't released an official roadmap to achieve quantum safety by at least 2028: the proposals currently on the table have already divided the community and core developers. On the other hand, Zcash is set to be quantum-safe by late 2027 through Tachyon and follow-up integrations. What do you prefer to have in your portfolio: a Bitcoin that doesn't protect your financial privacy and offers no defense against a quantum attacker, or an encrypted and quantum-resistant Bitcoin? SELL BTC, BUY ZEC.
