Mercado Bitcoin to Absorb $40 Million Hack Loss, Customers Protected

Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin says it will cover the estimated $40 million loss from the hack, with customers not expected to bear the cost.

Meanwhile, reports that the hacker linked entity still holds around $46.5 million in crypto across 46 addresses.

The focus now shifts to tracking the stolen funds and strengthening security.

I think Covering customer losses is important, but rebuilding trust will depend on transparency and stronger protection against future attacks
