🚨 BNB Chain Passes Post-Quantum Security Tests — But Network Speed Drops Up to 50% BNB Chain has released new research showing that its blockchain can successfully migrate toward post-quantum cryptography, though the upgrade comes with major scalability trade-offs. According to the report, BNB Smart Chain tested replacing current cryptographic systems with: • ML-DSA-44 quantum-resistant signatures • pqSTARK validator aggregation technology The results showed that post-quantum readiness is technically achievable today, but significantly increases transaction and block sizes. Key findings from the tests: • Transaction throughput dropped by ~40% • Gas throughput fell by up to 50% • Block sizes increased from ~130 KB to nearly 2 MB • Signature sizes expanded from 65 bytes to ~2.4 KB Researchers noted that the biggest challenge was not consensus stability, but the massive increase in network data transmission requirements. Despite the slowdown, validator aggregation remained efficient thanks to pqSTARK compression, which reduced validator signature overhead by roughly 43:1. BNB Chain emphasized that quantum computers do not currently pose an immediate threat to blockchain encryption, but the research is part of long-term infrastructure preparation for future cybersecurity risks. #BNB #BNBChain #Blockchain #Crypto #QuantumComputing
