Overview

This FAQ answers common questions about using Polymarket through KuCoin Web3 Wallet. For step-by-step instructions, please refer to the related Help Center guides.

Getting Started

What is Polymarket?

Polymarket is a prediction market platform where users can trade outcome shares on real-world events, such as crypto, sports, politics, culture, technology, and macro events.

What asset is used for trading?

Polymarket uses pUSD on Polygon as trading collateral. Supported deposit assets may include USDC on the Polygon network, depending on the product route and interface display.

Do I need a native gas token?

Yes, in some cases. When depositing USDC from KuCoin Web3 Wallet to your Polymarket account on Polygon, you may need POL as the native gas token for network fees.

Please make sure you have enough POL in your KuCoin Web3 Wallet before making on-chain transactions on Polygon.

How do I access Polymarket in KuCoin Web3 Wallet?

Open the KuCoin App, switch to Wev3, and find the Polymarket entry point.

Availability may vary by region, eligibility requirements, product rollout, and app version.

Do I need to update my KuCoin App?

Yes. Please make sure your KuCoin App is updated to the latest supported version before using Polymarket in KuCoin Web3 Wallet.

Trading

How do I trade on Polymarket?

Please refer to this article for a step-by-step trading tutorial.

What are Yes and No shares?

Yes and No shares represent opposite outcomes of a market.

If the market resolves to Yes, Yes shares win and No shares lose.

If the market resolves to No, No shares win and Yes shares lose.

Can I sell my position before market resolution?

Yes, in many cases you can sell or cash out before resolution if the market is still open and there is sufficient liquidity.

Positions and P&L

Where can I view my Polymarket positions?

You can view your Polymarket positions in the Polymarket positions or on the asset page on wallet homepage depending on the product interface.

Why is my position value changing?

Your position value changes as market prices change. Prices may move due to trading activity, liquidity, spread, order book changes, new information, or changes in market expectations.

What is unrealized P&L?

Unrealized P&L is the estimated profit or loss of your open position before you sell it or before the market resolves. It is only an estimate and may change before the position is closed or settled.

Settlement and Proceeds

When does a Polymarket market settle?

A market settles after the event outcome is determined and the resolution process is completed.

Settlement timing may vary by market. Some markets may take longer if the result is pending, disputed, or requires additional confirmation.

How do I receive proceeds?

If your selected outcome wins, you may be able to claim proceeds after the market resolves and the result is finalized. You may need to manually claim your proceeds on the Positions page.

How much can I receive if I win?

In many binary markets, winning shares redeem at $1 per share, while losing shares become worthless.

For example, if you hold 10 winning shares, the gross redemption value is usually 10 USD before any applicable fees or costs.

Always check the actual market page and confirmation details for the final amount.

Why can’t I claim yet?

You may not be able to claim if:

  • The market has not resolved
  • The result is still pending
  • The outcome is disputed
  • The resolution process has not completed
  • Your selected outcome did not win
  • The claim function is temporarily unavailable

Fees

Does Polymarket charge fees?

Polymarket may charge trading fees depending on the market category and order type.

Currently, Polymarket orders placed through KuCoin Web3 Wallet are processed as taker orders, so a Polymarket taker fee may apply where applicable.

Some Polymarket markets may be fee-free. Always review the actual Polymarket fee shown before confirming a trade.

Are deposits and withdrawals charged?

Polymarket states that it does not charge Polymarket fees for USDC deposits or withdrawals.

However, deposits and withdrawals may still involve network fees, bridge costs, conversion costs, or third-party provider fees depending on the selected token, network, and route.

Always check the estimated received amount before confirming.

Does KuCoin Web3 Wallet charge fees for Polymarket orders?

Yes. When placing Polymarket orders through KuCoin Web3 Wallet, a KuCoin Web3 Wallet Fee of 1.5% of the order amount applies.

Are there network costs?

Yes. Network costs may apply when users interact with blockchain networks. Common scenarios include: depositing funds, withdrawing funds, approving token usage, etc.

Network fees depend on the selected chain and real-time network conditions.

Access and Availability

Why can’t I access Polymarket?

Polymarket may not be available due to:

  • Region restrictions
  • Eligibility requirements
  • App version
  • Product rollout status
  • Temporary service conditions
Please make sure your KuCoin App is updated to the latest supported version and check this documentation whether the feature is available in your region.

Why do I need to upgrade my Polymarket account?

Polymarket has upgraded its account and trading system from V1 to V2. Some older accounts may need to complete the upgrade before they can trade normally.

How do I upgrade my Polymarket account?

If your old Polymarket account needs to be upgraded, you will see a prompt when placing an order in KuCoin Web3 Wallet.

Follow the prompt to open Polymarket, connect your KuCoin Web3 Wallet, and start any buy trade. The trade does not need to be completed successfully.
