How to Trade on Polymarket in KuCoin Web3 Wallet

Overview

Polymarket is a prediction market platform where users can trade outcome shares on real-world events, including crypto, sports, politics, culture, technology, macro, and global news. 

KuCoin Web3 Wallet provides an entry point for users to access Polymarket from the KuCoin App.

This guide explains how to access Polymarket, prepare funds, place a prediction, and manage your trade.

Before You Start

Before trading, please make sure:

  • You have installed or updated the KuCoin App to the latest version.
  • You have created or imported a wallet.
  • You have at least 20 USDC for trading and 1 POL token for on-chain gas fees, such as deposits and withdrawals. 
    • (Please note that both USDC and POL must be on the Polygon network.)
    • If you already have assets in your wallet, you can use cross-chain Swap to prepare the required USDC / POL.
    • If your wallet has no assets, you can deposit USDC / POL directly from an exchange to your Web3 Wallet. 
  • You understand that Polymarket availability may vary by region, product rules, and eligibility requirements.

Prediction markets involve risk. Do not trade with funds you cannot afford to lose.

Step 1: Prepare USDC & POL in KuCoin Web3 Wallet

Before trading, make sure you have supported funds available in your wallet. If you have no assets, you can deposit USDC and POL directly from your KuCoin Exchange account to your Web3 Wallet.

Note: Both USDC and POL must be transferred via the Polygon network. You will need a small amount of POL to pay for on-chain gas fees in the later steps.

Step 2: Open Polymarket

Once your assets have arrived in your Web3 Wallet, you can access the Polymarket.

Note: 

  • Please wait for your USDC & POL to fully arrive in your Web3 Wallet before trying to open Polymarket.

  • The actual entry point for Polymarket may vary depending on your app version, region, and product availability.

Step 3: Add Funds to Polymarket Account

Before placing any predictions, you need to deposit your available USDC into your Polymarket trading account.

Note: Depositing funds into Polymarket requires a small amount of POL to pay for on-chain gas fees. Please ensure you have enough POL left in your Web3 Wallet.

Step 4: Place A Trade

After the Trade

After placing a trade, you can:

  • View your open position 
  • Monitor market price changes 
  • Sell your position before market resolution, if supported and liquidity is available 
  • Wait for market resolution & claim proceeds if your position resolves as the winning outcome
