Foreign Exchange (FX) Fee

A Foreign Exchange (FX) fee applies when a KuCard transaction is processed in a currency other than the card’s designated settlement currency (EUR).
Examples include:
paying in EUR with a Euro-denominated KuCard, or any transaction where currency conversion is required prior to settlement.
The FX fee is calculated on the converted transaction amount and is applied in accordance with the applicable fee schedule.

ATM Operator Fees

Some ATM operators may charge additional fees for cash withdrawals or currency conversion.
These fees are set and charged by the ATM operator, not by KuCoin EU or KuCard.
Any such fees are typically displayed on the ATM screen before you confirm the transaction.
Please review all on-screen messages carefully before proceeding.

Illustrative Examples

(For illustration purposes only; actual rates may vary)
Scenario 1 – Foreign currency card payment (FX fee applies)
Transaction: Customer A makes a purchase for USD 100, settled in EUR.
Assumptions:
Visa exchange rate: 1 EUR ≈ 1.095275 USD
FX fee: 2%
Calculation:
Converted amount: USD 100 ÷ 1.095275 ≈ €91.31
FX fee: €91.31 × 2% ≈ €1.826
Total charged amount: €91.31 + €1.826 ≈ €93.136
Result: €93.136 (or the equivalent value funded via crypto-asset conversion) is debited from the customer’s Funding Account.
Important note: During authorisation, a slightly higher amount may be temporarily held to account for exchange-rate fluctuations. Only the final settled amount is charged, and any unused portion is released back to the Funding Account.

Scenario 2 – EUR transaction funded using crypto-assets
Transaction: Customer B makes a €100 purchase but holds only USDC in their Funding Account.
Assumption:
KuCoin sell rate: 1 USDC ≈ €0.93167
Calculation:
Required USDC amount: €100 ÷ 0.93167 ≈ 107.33 USDC
Result: 107.33 USDC is deducted from Customer B’s Funding Account and converted to EUR for settlement.

Important information

All KuCard transactions are settled in EUR.
Crypto-assets are used solely as a funding source via conversion and are not transferred to merchants.
Exchange rates are determined by Visa (for FX) or KuCoin EU (for crypto-asset conversion), as applicable, and may fluctuate.
Fees, rates, and availability may change in accordance with the KuCard Terms of Use and applicable regulations.
