B3 was founded by former Base team members, including CEO Daryl Xu and co-founders Sean Geng and Viktoriya Hying. They launched the mainnet in August 2024. 

In February 2025, B3 introduced its native token, $B3, accompanied by an airdrop event. 

The platform has partnered with SuperGaming to create custom GameChains, enhancing gameplay for over 200 million users. B3 aims to onboard half the world's gamers by providing better titles and experiences.

The B3 token, $B3, has a total supply of 100 billion tokens. The distribution is allocated as follows:

1. Community & Ecosystem (34.2%): This portion is dedicated to fostering the growth of the B3 ecosystem. It supports initiatives like airdrops, tournaments, playtests, community-led grants, and research & development.

2. Foundation (22.5%): Allocated to the Player1 Foundation, these funds aid in strategic partnerships, legal and compliance needs, audits, and operational expenses.

3. Team & Advisors (23.3%): Designated for core contributors and 18 advisors from both AAA and web3 gaming sectors. This allocation follows a 4-year vesting schedule: a 1-year cliff for the initial 25%, with the remaining tokens unlocking monthly thereafter.

4. Investors (20%): Reserved for over 100 angel investors from diverse industries, including gaming, web3, brands, and infrastructure. This allocation also adheres to a 4-year vesting schedule, mirroring that of the team and advisors.
