🚨GOLD UNDER PRESSURE: CAN $4,000 HOLD BEFORE FED WEEK?
Gold is facing a serious test.
On October 23, spot gold traded near $4,016 per ounce, heading for a weekly decline of approximately 3.5%.
The psychological $4,000 level is now in focus.
WHAT IS DRIVING THE SELLOFF?
1. Rising energy prices are renewing inflation concerns.
2. Higher-for-longer US interest-rate expectations are pressuring non-yielding assets.
3. Investors are preparing for the Federal Reserve meeting on October 27–28.
THREE SCENARIOS TO WATCH
BULLISH
If gold holds above $4,000 and Treasury yields ease, buyers may attempt a recovery.
BEARISH
A sustained break below $4,000 could increase selling pressure and weaken near-term sentiment.
NEUTRAL
Gold may consolidate while markets wait for clearer signals from the Fed.
THE TOKENIZED GOLD CONNECTION
Crypto traders can also follow gold through PAXG and XAUt.
Both tokens represent exposure to physical gold, with each token designed to correspond to one fine troy ounce.
But their exchange prices can differ from spot gold because of liquidity, trading spreads and market conditions.
Physical gold, gold-backed tokens and gold perpetual futures are not interchangeable instruments.
MY TAKE
The $4,000 level is worth watching, but it is not guaranteed support.
The bigger question is whether inflation fears and interest-rate expectations continue to outweigh gold's traditional safe-haven appeal.
For tokenized gold traders, this is also a good moment to monitor PAXG and XAUt premiums, liquidity and price tracking.
Will gold defend $4,000 or face another wave of selling?
