The Solana community has voted to reduce future issuance by nearly 19 million SOL, but what does this mean? The vote concluded on August 28, with 67% of participants supporting the proposal, barely crossing the two-thirds threshold. This decision doubles the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%. Consequently, Solana will reach its terminal inflation rate of 1.5% in 2.8 years instead of 5.7 years, reducing the supply by approximately 2.6% over a six-year period. This aligns Solana with Ethereum, which is also considering a proposal to reduce issuance, although Ethereum's version could potentially break all deployed Altair light clients. The trade-off is clear: staking yields are projected to drop from 5.8% to 2.2% within three years, which could push out smaller validators. A separate proposal to increase fee burning was rejected during the same vote. The fact that the two largest L1 blockchains are tightening supply within weeks of each other is no coincidence. This is the direction in which the competition for institutional capital is moving. Does reducing issuance truly change the game, or is it a symbolic move rather than a structural one?

Users may not be familiar with it, but massive trading volume has already passed through it. ① According to Solana’s official description, Meteora has accumulated over $300 billion in trading volume and paid over $1.6 billion in fees to liquidity providers. It has become a critical liquidity layer for Solana DeFi. ② Front-end wallets and aggregators handle user experience, while underlying pools determine quote depth, slippage, and trade execution efficiency. Many users have likely used Meteora’s liquidity without ever directly visiting its product page. ③ Trading volume and fees are impressive, but LP income is not the same as net profit. Impermanent loss, token volatility, incentive decay, and toxic order flow all impact final returns. ④ My personal view: The most truly defensible crypto infrastructure is often not the most compellingly marketed product, but the one others can’t live without—and that continues to generate recurring fees. To assess Meteora’s long-term value, I’ll continue monitoring actual LP returns and market share, not just cumulative figures. @Solana_zh @solana

This is the kind of energy I like seeing in the Solana ecosystem. shoutout to @LegendlarrySol @kasparas_sol and @Trav_Sol for makin' this more exciting big love for Solflare Packs g4g @SolflareEmpire

Top @fomo trader @theunipcs recently called out solana:Dz9mQ9NzkBcCsuGPFJ3r1bS4wgqKMHBPiVuniW8Mbonk, saying the current setup reminded him of $PEPE before its parabolic run. Since then, solana:Dz9mQ9NzkBcCsuGPFJ3r1bS4wgqKMHBPiVuniW8Mbonk from @theuselesscoin has ripped 7x from the local bottom, now sitting at a $245M market cap. Is $1B the next stop?
