Kyrgyzstan is preparing to allow banks into the crypto market.

The Ministry of Economy has proposed permitting banks to buy, sell, and exchange cryptocurrencies under the supervision of the National Bank.

If the amendments are adopted, crypto transactions could become a standard banking service—like currency exchange or money transfers.

The reason is simple: the market is growing rapidly, and tax revenues from virtual assets over the first 11 months of 2025 have already exceeded 2.1 billion soms.

A 50-year-old resident of Kaliningrad lost nearly 7,000,000 ₽ after believing in so-called "crypto investments" and transferring funds while being shown fake profits in a fraudulent personal account.

She was regularly persuaded to deposit more money, with fabricated growth in funds displayed to encourage further investments.

When the woman tried to withdraw her money, access to her account was suddenly blocked—a classic scam scheme that still works today.

Advice: Buy crypto only through verified and transparent services; verify the ability to withdraw funds and the platform's reputation before transferring money. Do not trust promises of guaranteed returns.
