Ethereum upgrades FOCIL

Ethereum's Hegota upgrade will include FOCIL, a censorship-resistant mechanism forcing validators to include all valid transactions. Scheduled for late 2026.

Ethereum’s FOCIL inclusion marks a pivot: shifting from market-based to architectural neutrality. By enshrining transaction inclusion, censorship resistance becomes a protocol requirement, not a side effect. The ledger is maturing. #Ethereum #FOCIL #Web3

impressive! There’s definitely something to opening up your tech to the world! Roblox, Minecraft….allowing creators to build upon! I’ve been seeing some cool post on my timeline with these pixels. It’s giving me whole new perspective on pixel art! #NFT #Web3 #Innovation #ETH

@thesecondrei1 @NickSzabo4 It is, ETH has started preparing for it and even @QANplatform is prepared already. It’s smart to get into quantum resistant blockchains now, while it’s still cheap.

Pi Network Has Transitioned to Version 19.9 After Successfully Upgrading from Version 19.6 Pi Network has confirmed the successful completion of the mandatory upgrade to Protocol v19.6 and has set February 27 as the deadline for version v19.9, as part of its multi-phase roadmap. Today’s news from Pi Network confirms that the mandatory Protocol v19.6 upgrade has been completed across the entire network. This update, announced by the Pi Core Team on February 20, marks a significant technical milestone for the project. In the official post, the development team stated: “The migration to Protocol v19.6 has been successfully completed.” They also emphasized that version 19.9 will be the next step before progressing to v20. Node operators are advised to update and follow upcoming guidelines. This deployment follows the February 15 deadline, demonstrating continued progress along Pi’s broader roadmap for 2026. Successful Completion of v19.6 Upgrade The v19.6 upgrade primarily focused on improving node performance and network stability. According to the project update, the new version enhances node synchronization and overall reliability. These changes prepare the network for advanced features in future releases. Crucially, node operators must perform upgrades in sequence; skipping a version risks disconnection from the network, requiring close coordination among global nodes. So far, the transition has proceeded smoothly, reflecting strong community participation. The upgrade also lays the technical foundation for future smart contract deployment, although these features are not yet fully operational. This step brings the network closer to achieving that goal. Position in the 2026 Protocol Roadmap The deployment of v19.6 is just one phase within a larger upgrade cycle. According to the roadmap, version 19.9 is expected to launch soon, serving as the final step before the network transitions to v20. Subsequent updates—including v20.2 and ultimately v23—are aimed at enhancing scalability and decentralization. Pi Network’s architecture continues to build upon improvements to the Stellar Consensus Protocol. These upgrades aim to support higher transaction reliability and future dApp development. Currently, node operators are urged to remain vigilant and maintain system updates through official channels. This phased approach reflects the development team’s cautious, deliberate strategy rather than rushed, large-scale changes. Mainnet Migration and Ecosystem Progress Beyond technical upgrades, the Pi Network ecosystem continues to grow. According to recent community data, over 16 million KYC-verified users have been migrated to Mainnet. This steady migration supports Pi’s long-term goal of building a large, authenticated user base. Recent bug fixes have also helped resolve pending migration backlogs. Meanwhile, the Pi team is testing rewards for KYC validators, with plans for broader deployment by late 2026. Development tools such as Pi App Studio are also expanding, enabling developers to easily create payment-enabled applications. Notably, this update arrives almost exactly one year after Pi Open Mainnet launched in February 2025, adding symbolic value to this latest progress. Community Response and Remaining Challenges Community feedback has been largely positive. Many users view the successful upgrade as evidence of Pi’s technical maturity. However, today’s news also reveals lingering issues: some users continue reporting delays in wallet migrations, while others closely monitor token price fluctuations. In the coming period, attention will focus heavily on the upcoming v19.9 release. If this next phase deploys smoothly, Pi Network will take another significant step toward the open ecosystem it has long promised. By Shweta Chakrawarty

Ethereum proved that open ledgers can build trust at global scale, turning code into a shared source of truth. Yet full visibility without discretion leaves users and businesses unprotected by revealing strategies, identities, and intent in ways that can be exploited. Real progress lies in pairing transparency with confidentiality, so innovation can thrive without turning participation into permanent exposure.
