Qredo is an open-source, public, and permissionless platform that provides decentralized custody for decentralized assets. The technology merges multi-party computation (MPC) cryptographic security with a Layer-2 blockchain network to offer decentralized MPC (dMPC).

Cross-chain Swaps

Atomic swaps that support blockchain connectivity are possible using Qredo Network's cross-platform liquidity access, with meager transaction fees. Travel Rule Compliance

Qredo will launch the first in-band Travel Rule Solution for compliance with FATF’s Travel Rule. The international anti-money laundering regulation can be complied with using Qredo’s solution, allowing virtual asset service providers to ensure that they align with international rules on digital asset transfers while fostering mainstream adoption of the blockchain economy.

Work on the Qredo protocol started in December 2018 after its co-founders, Anthony Foy and Brian Spector, acquired the Qredo shell. The team held a pre-seed round in March 2019, raising $2.9 million worth of funding from investors.

Qredo launched the decentralized custody solution MVP in December 2019 with the aim of rearchitecting digital asset ownership. In June 2020, the Qredo testnet v1.0 went live with the launch of the consensus-driven MPC Qredo Network.

The Qredo mainnet went live in September 2020, along with BTC support. Decentralized custody and instant transfers were also enabled on the Qredo Network during this upgrade.

Qredo added support for Ethereum in December 2020, allowing users to perform native cross-chain swaps between BTC and ETH. In March 2021, the decentralized custodial network raised $11 million in seed funding from strategic investors, including Celsius, CMS Holdings, Deribit, and Wintermute.

Qredo’s developers expanded support for 13 ERC-20 tokens on the network by June 2021, along with releasing MVP for their Liquidity Hub and Trader Chat offerings. The QRDO token was launched via Coinlist a month later, in July 2021. The Qredo mainnet v2.0 went live in March 2022.
