2.Institutional Account Application Steps

Step 1: Complete Account Registration

KYB (Know Your Business) verification is the core step in the account-opening process and is divided into the following phases:

Basic Verification:

• Log in to your KuCoin account via https://kucoin.com/en-au .

• Navigate to “Identity Verification” under your profile avatar and select “Institutional Verification”. 

• Select your registered country/region, choose the institution type, and click "Continue" to proceed.

• Click "Get Verified" to continue

• Gather and prepare all necessary documents. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and adheres to the legal framework governing company registration and incorporation.

b. For a Corporate Trust, please submit the following information: Trust Information - Corporate Trustees - Supporting Documents

c. For a Corporation, please submit the following information: Company Information - Key Members - Supporting Documents

Advanced Verification:

• Contact us via email to arrange the online assessment.

• For detailed instructions, refer to the guide on How to Complete KYB Verification.

Wholesale Verification:

• Submit additional documentation to prove the enterprise or individual’s assets and income.

• Specific requirements can be found in the Wholesale Verification section of the KYB guide.

Step 3: Account Review and Activation

• Once KYB verification is successfully completed, your account will undergo a final review.

• After passing the review, you will receive an account activation notification and can start using the platform’s features.

3.Notes for Institutional Account Opening

· Ensure all submitted documents are complete and legible. Scanned copies must be clear and readable.

· Follow the format requirements for documents (PDF or JPG).

· The account application and KYB verification process typically take up to 5 business days for review, though complex cases may take longer.

1) How will the submitted corporate and personal information be used?

The information provided will be used to verify the identity of the enterprise and its associated individuals. All submitted documents and data are treated with strict confidentiality and processed in compliance with legal regulations and privacy policies to ensure data security. 

2) Do the restrictions on services in prohibited countries or regions only apply to the company’s registered address?

No. The restrictions on services in prohibited countries or regions apply not only to the company’s registered address but also to the nationality or residence of the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs). Due to variations in institutional nature and ownership structures, KYB verification results may differ. KuCoin reserves the right to make the final decision regarding verification outcomes.

3)  What are the differences between Basic Verification, Advanced Verification, and Wholesale Verification?

Basic Verification

• After completing Basic Verification, users can perform spot trading.

Advanced Verification

• Requires users to complete a questionnaire and successfully pass an evaluation.

• Users gain access to spot trading and derivatives trading with up to 2x leverage.

Wholesale Verification

• After passing Advanced Verification, users can perform spot trading and enjoy 50 leverage for derivatives trading.

4) Can I reuse the email and phone number linked to an existing account for re-verification?

If your existing email and phone number are already registered on the KuCoin Global platform, they cannot be used again for re-verification. To resolve this, consider the following solutions:

• Option 1: Follow the website instructions or contact the KuCoin support team via email to request account migration. After migration, all account information will remain unchanged.

5) If I receive a migration prompt, do I need to complete the migration? Will it affect my positions or trading assets?

For migration prompts, we recommend completing the migration as instructed. Your current positions and trading assets will not be affected.
