Zama adds a layer of confidentiality to existing public blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana. It enables users to shield their tokens and confidentially transfer, swap or stake them in DeFi. Some use cases include confidential stablecoins, swaps, RWA tokenization and DeFi. Zama is like HTTPS, but for blockchain transactions. Zama leverages state-of-the-art Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technology, which enables computing directly on encrypted data. FHE has long been considered the “holy grail” of cryptography, as it allows end-to-end encryption for any application, onchain or offchain, and is secure even against quantum computers. Zama has secured $57m in a Series B funding round. The funding, co-led by Blockchange Ventures and Pantera Capital, brings Zama's total funding to more than $150m and its valuation to more than $1bn.
