KuCoin x Cactus Custody: Off-Exchange Solution

Dear KuCoin Client,
 
We’re pleased to announce that KuCoin has integrated with the Cactus Off-Exchange Solution, combining third-party custodial services with secure off-exchange trading infrastructure.
 
Through this integration, institutional clients can now establish a dedicated Custodian Sub-Account under their KuCoin main account. Each Custodian Sub-Account is directly linked (1:1) to the client’s Cactus account, ensuring transparent and verifiable asset delegation.
 
Clients can seamlessly perform deposits and withdrawals using Cactus delegation / non-delegation functions, maintaining custody control while accessing KuCoin’s deep liquidity and trading services.
Trading under this setup is designed to settle automatically every 4 hours. KuCoin will handle all settlements directly with Cactus, so no additional action is required from the client side.

How to use Cactus Custody for trading 

Step 1: Create Your KuCoin Account from https://www.kucoin.com/ucenter/signup
 
 
Step 2: Visit the Subaccount Page and Create the Cactus Custodial Subaccount

Step 3: Connect Your Cactus account and KuCoin account
 
Please find your account “Link Token” and copy the “Account Token”.
 
 
Login your Cactus account and build the connection
 
 
Choose KuCoin
 
 
Add Connection Token
 
 
Step 4: allocation and deallocation
 
 
Step 5: Trade on KuCoin
 
Create api key for your 3rd-party custodian sub-account

1.Client allocates $100 of BTC to KuCoin

2.Client trades $50 of BTC into USDT

  • Client's balances at KuCoin are $50 of BTC, $50 USDT
  • KuCoin sends settlement instructions: -$50 of BTC, +$50 of USDT
  • Client sees $50 BTC and $50 USDT allocated on Cactus

3.Client trades $25 of BTC into an unsupported asset.

  • Client's balances at KuCoin are $25 of BTC, $25 of unsupported, $50 USDT
  • KuCoin sends settlement instructions: -$25 BTC.
  • Client sees $25 BTC and $50 USDT allocated on Cactus.

4.Client trades $10 of unsupported back into BTC.

  • Client's balances are $35 of BTC, $15 unsupported, $50 USDT
  • KuCoin sends settlement instructions: +$10 BTC.
  • Client sees $35 BTC and $50 USDT allocated on Cactus.

5.Client trades $10 of unsupported assets into USDT.

  • Client's balances are $35 of BTC, $5 unsupported, $60 USDT
  • KuCoin sends settlement instructions: +$10 USDT.
  • Client sees $35 BTC and $60 USDT allocated on Cactus.

6.Client trades $5 of BTC into USDT.

  • Client's balances are $30 BTC, $5 unsupported, $65 USDT
  • KuCoin sends settlement instructions: -$5 BTC, +$5 USDT
  • Client sees $30 BTC $65 USDT allocated on Cactus

7.Client trades final $5 of unsupported back into BTC.

  • Clients balances are $35 BTC, $65 USDT
  • KuCoin sends new settlement instructions: +$5 BTC
  • Client sees $35 BTC $65 USDT allocated on Cactus
