KuCoin X BitGo: Off Exchange Solution
Última atualização: 07/11/2025
KuCoin has integrated with BitGo’s Off-Exchange Solution, which combines third-party custody with off-exchange settlement. This integration allows clients to access KuCoin’s liquidity while keeping their assets securely held in regulated custody with BitGo.
Q1: What is KuCoin OES?
A1: KuCoin is in the process of integrating Bitgo’s Off Exchange Solution which is a combination of Third-Party Custodian Service and Off Exchange Solution.
In our design, KuCoin institutional Client can set a special “3rd-party Custodian Sub-Account” under the KuCoin main account and this “custodian sub-account” has a 1-on-1 asset delegation with the client's Bitgo account. Clients can conduct “deposit"/"withdrawal” via using Bitgo’s “allocation/de-allocation” function.

The trading is designed to be settled at a fixed time every 4 hours (starting from 0:00 UTC+8). KuCoin will conduct the automatic settlement with Bitgo, so there is no special action needed from the client side.
Q2: What are the benefits of KuCoin OES?
A2: Here are the benefits of using the OES service:
- custody in secure environment
- Minimize counterparty risk
- Minimize the cost for frequent deposits and withdrawals across exchanges
- Fast movements between exchanges for arbitrage

Q6: Do I have any quota limit for allocation?
A6: Yes. KuCoin will set a quota limitation per token per account for allocation. The quota is determined by your preferred deposit amounts initially when you are connecting to KuCoin. However, you can contact your account manager anytime if you want to negotiate the quota from time to time. If your account hits the quota limit, you are not able to allocate new funds from Bitgo. The quota limits are calculated as the balance plus the realized P&L(settled). The quota is independent per token.
Q7:How do I get started using Off-exchange settlement?
A7: You need to be onboard both to BitGo Trust and KuCoin exchange (please check KuCoin account registration FAQ here: https://www.kucoin.com/support/31004360304153) in addition to acknowledging the Program terms for OES, which is an addendum to the CSA. Also, you'll need to sign an additional agreement with KuCoin as well. A “Settlement” license will be enabled for your enterprise. From your account at the exchange, you will generate a token (this is a unique identifier that can be generated from the exchange platform). You will enter this token within the BitGo platform. This connects your BitGo account and KuCoin accounts. Please fill out the google form below and our account manager manager will contact you soon:
Q8: How do I allocate funds for off-exchange settlement:
A8: If you do not already have funds at BitGo Trust, you will need to deposit funds into your GoAccount. Once deposited, you may then use either the BitGo UI or API to make allocation requests to KuCoin. Once the allocation request is approved, you should see the allocated balance reflected in your account at KuCoin. You can then trade on the exchange as you normally would, either via the exchange’s UI or APIs.
Q9: How often does settlement occur with exchanges?
A9: KuCoin and BitGo will perform settlement at least once every 4 hours, so long as there are trades which have been fully executed during that 4 hour period. BitGo will perform a balance check of the exchange’s account at BitGo Trust to make sure the funds required for settlement have been deposited. BitGo will then perform an off-chain ledger movement which moves your allocated assets to the exchange’s account, and the exchange’s assets to your account.
Q10: How good is BitGo Go Network?
A10: The key distinction for Go Network is that assets remain in the client’s name in qualified custody at BitGo Trust vs. self custody or with the exchange, no title transfers required. Assets remain in client name and insured up to $250M" (please check more details here: https://www.bitgo.com/solutions/insurance/). BitGo has earned both SOC 2 type 1 and SOC 2 type 2 certifications from outside auditors reinforcing our commitment to establishing and following the most secure practices to keep client assets safe.
