ECHO is the native utility token of Echo Protocol—the first Bitcoin liquid restaking and yield layer built on MoveVM. It consolidates various Bitcoin staking assets (W‑BTC, L‑BTC, etc.), enabling users to bridge, stake, and earn yield across multiple blockchains—earning up to ~30% APY using multi-chain vaults and lending pools.

Users deposit BTC or BTC-backed tokens into Echo’s vaults, which then distribute funds across diverse yield strategies—staking, lending, and vaults. This integrated flow mints a unified token, aBTC, representing all staked Bitcoin. Revenue from yield is reflected in the increasing value of these tokens, while holders earn ECHO reward points tied to activity, which could hint at future token incentives.

Echo Protocol launched its mainnet and app in mid-2025, backed by top investors and built on Aptos’ MoveVM . The pre-seed round in October 2024 was led by Spartan Group with investments from Arthur Hayes, Selini Capital, Aptos, and others. Since then, it’s grown rapidly, posting over $120 million in TVL and nearly 2,500 BTC staked across chains.

While the ECHO token is not yet launched, its intended utility includes:

Governance—voters can steer strategy and vault performance parameters

Incentivization—rewarding yield providers, depositors, and token stakers

Revenue Sharing—distribution of a share of platform fees back to ECHO holders in ETH/USDC

Burn Mechanisms—some fees will be used to buy and burn ECHO, supporting token value over time.

Before ECHO is issued, users earn Echo Points by bridging Bitcoin assets and supplying liquidity across vaults and lending pools. These points appear to correlate with early access or token allocation. Once ECHO goes live, holders are expected to claim tokens through staking bonuses or governance participation that reflects their Echo Point contribution.

ECHO has a fixed max supply of 1 billion tokens, set to launch during its token generation event. While vesting specifics haven't been disclosed, Echo Protocol has outlined the token’s core utility and a deflationary mechanism via fee-based token burns—from multi-chain activity and vault fees—which reduce circulating supply and promote long-term value.

Though ECHO isn't live yet, Echo Protocol recently ran a May–June 2025 campaign on Aptos, rewarding up to $1 million in ECHO tokens to users who staked BTC assets like aBTC and staked Aptos tokens across Echo’s vaults and lending pools.
