AGT (Alaya Governance Token) is the native utility and governance token of the Alaya AI ecosystem—a decentralized Web3 data infrastructure for AI model training and automated data labeling. Built on BNB Smart Chain as a BEP-20 token, AGT underpins Alaya’s mission to democratize and secure access to high-quality AI training data through token-incentivized contributions. As the protocol’s backbone, AGT aligns economic incentives for data providers, model trainers, and governance participants, enabling a community-driven approach to scaling AI workloads.

Alaya AI uses a dual staking model where AGT holders can stake tokens into “AI model pools” to fund the training and fine-tuning of specific machine-learning models. Stakers earn rewards proportional to their support as models gain usage in downstream applications. Meanwhile, data-labeling contributors stake AGT to register as validators, earn fees for verifying and curating datasets, and secure the network’s Proof-of-SQL consensus. On-chain governance allows token holders to vote on protocol upgrades, incentive mechanisms, and treasury allocations.

Alaya AI launched AGT’s initial sale on May 16, 2025 via an IDO on Binance Wallet’s PancakeSwap and OKX Wallet Launchpad, offering 100 million tokens at $0.001 each and raising $100 K. The token began trading on KuCoin and other major exchanges on May 21, 2025, quickly achieving a market cap above $40 M as community interest grew. Behind the scenes, Alaya raised over $15 M in seed and strategic rounds from Amber Group, OKX Ventures, Binance Labs, and others to fund development of its FHE-enabled data infrastructure.

AGT serves three core functions: governance, staking, and ecosystem incentives. In governance, holders propose and vote on network parameters, data-reward schedules, and grant programs. For staking, AGT backs both AI model pools—where funds drive model training—and data-validator roles, earning participants staking and performance rewards. Finally, AGT funds bounty campaigns, hackathons, and partnership incentives, distributing tokens to contributors who onboard new data sources, build integrations, or drive community growth.

The primary way to acquire AGT was through the IDO on BNB Smart Chain’s PancakeSwap and OKX Wallet Launchpad on May 16, 2025. Going forward, users earn AGT by staking into AI model pools—reaping tokenized model-success rewards—and by contributing to data-labeling tasks, where validators earn fees in AGT for high-quality dataset curation. Additional avenues include participating in community bounties and hackathons announced on Alaya AI’s channels, and through trading-volume or holding incentives on partner exchanges like OKX and Binance.

AGT has a fixed maximum supply of 5 billion tokens. Allocation breaks down as follows: a 2% public sale (100 M AGT) via the IDO; approximately 15% to early investors under vesting schedules; 20% reserved for ecosystem growth and bounties; 15% for team and advisors with multi-year cliffs; and the remainder held in the DAO treasury for future grants and protocol initiatives. Emissions for staking and validation are governed by on-chain parameters to balance network security with sustainable token distribution.

There is no one-time “airdrop” for AGT. Instead, token distribution occurs through the IDO and ongoing incentive programs. To claim tokens, users connected a BSC-compatible wallet (e.g., MetaMask configured for BNB Smart Chain) to the PancakeSwap or OKX Launchpad interface during the May 16 IDO.
