Bitcoin price today surged $3,400, lifting Strive’s Bitcoin holdings by $68.8 million. The firm now holds 20,246 BTC, with total crypto assets valued between $1.3 billion and $1.4 billion. Strive added 147 BTC from August 3 to 7 and 79 BTC the next week. The company, restructured as a Bitcoin treasury firm in September 2025, ranks among the top ten public corporate Bitcoin holders globally. Analysts cite the move as a sign of confidence in Bitcoin price prediction models.

A single day’s price swing just added roughly $68.8 million to Strive’s balance sheet. That’s what happens when you’re sitting on more than 20,000 Bitcoin and the market decides to cooperate.

Strive, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASST) saw its Bitcoin treasury swell in value as Bitcoin climbed approximately $3,400, pushing the company’s total crypto holdings to somewhere between $1.3 billion and $1.4 billion. For a firm that held around 5,000 BTC at the end of 2025, the transformation has been swift and deliberate.

A treasury strategy on steroids

Strive’s Bitcoin stash now stands at 20,246 BTC as of mid-August 2026. That’s a roughly fourfold increase in less than eight months.

The company has been buying consistently on the open market. From August 3 to 7, Strive scooped up 147 BTC. The following week, August 10 to 14, it added another 79 BTC.

The holdings crossed 15,000 BTC back in May 2026 and blew past 20,000 by late July. At a Bitcoin price hovering around $62,852 on August 17 before pushing into the mid-$64,000s by August 19, the math on unrealized gains starts to get very interesting very quickly.

With over $150 million in cash liquidity sitting alongside its crypto reserves, Strive has positioned Bitcoin as its principal reserve asset, making its stock essentially a leveraged play on Bitcoin’s price movements.

From asset manager to Bitcoin treasury firm

Strive’s origin story in this space traces back to a merger completed in September 2025, which effectively transformed the company into a Bitcoin treasury firm.

CEO Matt Cole has been vocal about the reasoning. His thesis is straightforward: Bitcoin represents a superior long-term store of value compared to fiat currencies. It’s a conviction that has guided every major capital allocation decision since the merger.

The company now ranks among the top ten publicly listed corporate holders of Bitcoin globally.

What the $69M gain actually means

It’s worth being precise about what a $68.8 million increase in holdings value represents. This is an unrealized gain, meaning Strive hasn’t sold anything. The Bitcoin is still sitting in the company’s treasury, and its value will fluctuate with every tick of the market.

Strive’s approach is part of a broader trend that has gained significant momentum among publicly traded companies. The playbook, popularized years ago by MicroStrategy, has attracted a growing roster of imitators. Each new entrant adds incremental buying pressure to the Bitcoin market while simultaneously creating new equity instruments that function as quasi-Bitcoin ETFs with corporate wrappers.
