According to U.Today, Semler Scientific, a NASDAQ-listed company, has acquired an additional 871 Bitcoin (BTC) for $88.5 million between January 11 and February 3, 2025. This purchase was funded through proceeds from its January 2025 senior convertible notes offering and the sale of part of its stake in Monarch Medical Technologies. The average purchase price was $101,616 per BTC, including fees. With this acquisition, Semler Scientific's total Bitcoin holdings have reached 3,192 BTC, with a total expenditure of $280.4 million, averaging $87,854 per BTC. The company has seen a significant yield of 152% since July 1, 2024, and its stock price has increased by 223% at its peak following a previous Bitcoin purchase announcement in May 2024. Semler Scientific views Bitcoin as a superior store of value compared to gold or the U.S. dollar, inspired by Michael Saylor's vision.
