In accordance with Bitcoin.com, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins stated on Dec. 2 that the agency is preparing to issue an innovation exemption for the crypto industry within a month. He emphasized the SEC’s readiness to advance digital-asset policy under existing authority, while engaging with Congress on potential legislation. Atkins also noted that the agency is working to provide technical assistance to lawmakers and is focused on enabling structured experimentation in the crypto space to support industry growth and U.S. competitiveness.
