In accordance with TheMarketPeriodical, Robinhood has acquired 90% of LedgerX, a regulated derivatives exchange previously owned by FTX, in partnership with Susquehanna International Group. The deal, expected to close in Q1 2026, is part of Robinhood’s strategy to strengthen its position in the growing prediction market sector. LedgerX was acquired from Miami International Holdings for $50 million during FTX’s bankruptcy proceedings. Robinhood already offers Kalshi event contracts to retail users, and the acquisition may reduce its reliance on Kalshi for event contracts. The prediction market sector has seen significant growth since the 2024 U.S. presidential election, with event contracts expanding into areas like sports and economics. Other firms, including DraftKings, Polymarket, and FanDuel, have also made moves in the sector.
