According to The Crypto Basic, on-chain investigator Shima has uncovered the full laundering path of funds stolen in the Shibarium bridge hack. The attacker, who stole $2.4 million in assets in September 2025, attempted to obscure the trail using Tornado Cash but made a critical error that allowed Shima to trace the funds to 48 KuCoin deposits. The attacker moved 260 ETH through Tornado Cash and later funneled the funds into KuCoin via intermediary wallets. Shima shared his findings with Shibarium and KuCoin, but the exchange required a law-enforcement case number before taking action. He later published the analysis to enable victims and authorities to act independently.
