Citing Bitjie, MEXC, a top 10 global cryptocurrency exchange offering up to 500x leverage and zero-fee trading on select pairs, has kept its futures API disabled since July 2022, preventing developers from automating trades and accessing real-time data for bots. Despite initial claims of a temporary suspension, the API remains inactive, prompting complaints from Reddit users and speculation about MEXC's intent to exert control. The issue gained further attention during the 'White Whale' incident, where MEXC froze a trader's $3.1 million account, citing the use of API-based bots.
