In accordance with Chainwire, WeFi has appointed Michael Batuev as Global Head of Payments. Batuev, previously a leader at Visa, brings over 18 years of fintech and banking experience to accelerate WeFi’s expansion in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and other regions. Batuev has worked on self-custody payment cards at Tangem and led emerging product initiatives at Visa. He will focus on product strategy, partnerships, and DeFi integration. WeFi, co-founded by Maksym Sakharov, aims to merge DeFi accessibility with TradFi reliability. Sakharov noted that Batuev’s expertise in global payment networks will strengthen WeFi’s institutional-grade scalability. WeFi is expanding in Europe and forming APAC partnerships in jurisdictions like Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UAE.
