Citing BlockTempo, Ethereum's MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) ecosystem saw a sharp decline in profitability in 2025. Despite decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume reaching $100 billion monthly, the average net profit per sandwich attack dropped to just $3. Total losses from such attacks amounted to $40 million for the year, with monthly MEV profits falling from $10 million in late 2024 to $2.5 million in October 2025. Stablecoin pools and algorithmic dominance became focal points, as 38% of attacks targeted stablecoins. A single entity, known as 'Jaredfromsubway.eth,' controlled about 70% of the attacks, highlighting the growing centralization of MEV activities.
