Derived from Solanafloor, Canada has taken the lead in launching spot Solana ETFs, with trading commencing on the Toronto Stock Exchange at 9.30 AM ET on April 16. The Ontario Securities Commission approved the ETFs from firms such as Purpose, Evolve, CI, and 3iQ, ahead of the U.S. SEC's decision. Notably, these Canadian ETFs incorporate staking rewards, a feature absent in U.S. ETFs tracking Proof-of-Stake assets. 3iQ, in collaboration with Figment, will manage staking operations for its Solana ETF, leveraging Figment's institutional-grade staking infrastructure. This development positions Canada as a trendsetter in crypto ETF approvals, potentially influencing the U.S. SEC's stance on similar products. The Canadian market has previously led with Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, suggesting Solana ETFs in the U.S. might follow soon.
