The Digimon Engine is an open-source framework designed to facilitate the development of AI-native games and agent-based metaverse applications. Digimon Engine launched in January 2025. The project is developed by contributors Jerry Pan and ethanlolomg, as listed on the GitHub repository. 

While a detailed public roadmap has not been officially released, the project's GitHub repository indicates an ongoing commitment to enhancing its capabilities. The initial focus includes supporting social and financial AI agents to enable immersive gameplay experiences.

The DIGIMON token is the designated in-game utility token for titles developed on the Digimon Engine. It facilitates transactions between players and AI agents, enabling activities such as rewards distribution and access to premium features. Developers have the flexibility to integrate their own tokens alongside DIGIMON, allowing for a dual-token system within their games. This approach ensures that DIGIMON maintains a standardized role across the platform, while also accommodating additional tokens introduced by developers.

In March 2025, the platform plans to launch a no-code solution, empowering creators to develop AI-native games using their own intellectual property. In this expanded ecosystem, DIGIMON will continue to serve as the universal utility token across all games, maintaining consistency and interoperability within the platform. Developers will also have the option to incorporate a secondary token, either by integrating an existing one or creating a new token specific to their game.

This dual-token model aims to provide flexibility for developers while ensuring that DIGIMON remains a central component of the in-game economy across the Digimon Engine platform.
