PANews, June 12: Huawei unveiled the open-source large model openPangu 2.0 at HDC 2026, offering two versions—Pro and Flash—both supporting 512K context length. The openPangu 2.0 Pro has a total of 505 billion parameters and 18 billion activated parameters, while the 2.0 Flash version has a total of 92 billion parameters and 6 billion activated parameters. The company states that the model achieves double the single-card throughput on Ascend computing power compared to other mainstream open-source models and is better optimized for HarmonyOS, enhancing the speed and accuracy of Agent tasks. openPangu 2.0 will gradually open-source seven major components starting June 30, including newly open-sourced pre-training code, post-training code, and training operators.
